Buckingham Palace announced today via Twitter that 2006 eventing world champion Zara Phillips has become engaged to rugby player Mike Tindall.
Phillips is the daughter of Capt. Mark Phillips and his first wife Princess Anne, who is the daughter of Queen Elizabeth II. Princess Anne competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games in eventing.

Phillips won individual gold and team silver medal at the 2006 Aachen World Equestrian Games. She was also selected for the British eventing team for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games but was forced to withdraw after her mount Toytown sustained an injury.
The pair has been dating since 2003 and have yet to set a date for the wedding.
