U.S. Olympic Show Jumping Horses Pass First Jog

All four U.S. show jumping horses presented for the first horse inspection at the Olympic Games passed this evening in Tokyo. The squad includes Kent Farrington with Gazelle, Laura Kraut with Baloutinue, Jessica Springsteen with Don Juan Van De Donkhoeve and traveling reserve McLain Ward with Contagious.

Two horses were sent to the holding box: China’s Caesar (ridden by You Zhang) and Argentina’s Cannavaro 9 (ridden by Matias Albarracin). They will be reinspected before the start of the training session, which is tomorrow evening.

The show jumping competition officially begins Tuesday at 7 p.m. local time (6 a.m. Eastern Daylight time) with the individual qualifier.
