It’s been more than two years since the 2008 Olympic Games, but the Swiss show jumping team finally got to take home the Olympic bronze medal at the 50th anniversary Geneva Show on Dec. 11.

The fourth-placed Swiss team earned the bronze after the Norwegian team was stripped of the medal because Tony Andre Hansen’s horse, Camiro, tested positive for capsaicin, a prohibited substance, and was subsequently disqualified after the Swiss Supreme Court denied his appeal on July 30, 2010.

The medals were presented to the Swiss team—Steve Guerdat, Christina Liebherr, Niklaus Schurtenberger and Pius Schwizer—by Patrick Baumann, International Olympic Committee member in Switzerland and member of the IOC executive board.  Also present at the ceremony were John P. Roche of the Fédération Equestre Internationale, Isabelle Roch-Pentucci, member of the Swiss Olympic Executive Council, Werner Augsburger, Swiss chef de mission at the 2008 Olympic Games and Charles Torlliet, president of the Swiss Federation for Equestrian Sport.
