By the time you guys read this, you will already know the regrettable news that Kim was unable to jog Paddy. He developed cellulitus, and even though the team worked hard to try and resolve the situation under the FEI Drug rules, it was in Paddy’s best interest not to be presented.

My heart goes out to Kim and her team who have been working all year towards this moment. For it to be pulled out from under you through no fault of your own is gut wrenching. Again it makes us all be more thankful for the honor that we have been given to represent our country. Karen has been selected to take the fourth place on the team.

The rest of the team jogged well, although Neville showed his naughty side. As the crowd clapped, he decided to canter sideways down the jog strip. Not surprisingly he was asked to jog again and all was well!

Everybody has now walked the course. The general impression would be that it looks big but doable. Boyd and Buck are to do dressage tomorrow whilst Karen, Becky and Phillip all ride Friday.

Phillip is about to go and do a canter, so I have to leave you all.

‘til next time….
