Jan Byyny, who suffered a serious fall while competing in the Pine Top Horse Trials (Ga.), has returned home.
As a result of the accident, Byyny suffered a minor stroke that damaged the language area of her brain. She is fully able to comprehend speech but is unable to verbalize.
At the end of her two-week hospital stay, Jan spent a week in outpatient therapy at Walton Rehab in Georgia before returning home to Virginia. She will receive regular speech and physical therapy while she recovers.
