Colonial Cup Claims Two Horses

Two horses were euthanized after sustaining injuries at the Colonial Cup in Camden, S.C., Nov. 19.

Armata Stable's Mussiecoocoo fell with Paddy Young in the open timber race and was humanely destroyed. Trained by Tom Voss the 7-year-old Irish-bred won two races, had two seconds and one third in his six sanctioned and point-to-point starts for 2011. Mussiecoocoo earned $17,800 in his short U.S. career.

Two horses were euthanized after sustaining injuries at the Colonial Cup in Camden, S.C., Nov. 19.

Armata Stable’s Mussiecoocoo fell with Paddy Young in the open timber race and was humanely destroyed. Trained by Tom Voss the 7-year-old Irish-bred won two races, had two seconds and one third in his six sanctioned and point-to-point starts for 2011. Mussiecoocoo earned $17,800 in his short U.S. career.

Robin Hanson’s Tiger Trail was put down after sustaining a broken leg in an amateur training flat race. Ridden by Kevin Tobin and trained by Joe Hanson, this was Tiger Trail’s first steeplechase flat race. The 3-year had earned $475 in his four starts at the flat track.
