I'm looking for ideas for a pad to use with my dressage saddle on my appendix gelding. He's about 15.2, so he isn't THAT small, but the big white square pad that looks lovely on my big bodied 16.1 OTTB is just too much. What are your preferences for pad styles for the smaller guys, that look classy and don't give them the appearance of Shetland ponies?
Also, I'd like to keep the price under $75 or so, which means all the fluffy sheepskin stuff is probably out of my budget, unless I hit the lottery!
I know how you feel, my guy is 15.1 and we tend to have the same problem. I don't know if your pad has already has some black trim on it or anything but that made a huge difference to how the pad looked on my guy. Once I switched from the all white giant square to something with a little bit of nice black trim it kind of stopped looking like he was swimming in the pad Although as enjoytheride said, your A/P pad may work out just fine.
