Guidelines for Art Gallery

Art Gallery consists of artwork that comes directly from artists, galleries or private collections.

The focus of the art should be within the realm of the Chronicle‘s editorial subject matter, but all equine art will be considered. Pieces featuring horses currently competing or stallions standing at stud are seldom eligible subjects. However, an artist may submit paintings of currently competing horses or stallions if the title of the artwork does not specifically name them. Action pieces are preferred, and head-only portraits are rarely accepted.

A short description of the art and artist should accompany the submission and may contain information about the size and type of artwork, education and equestrian background of the artist, and any interesting information about the subject of the piece.

We accept color photos, slides or transparencies of artwork; do not send originals or oversized prints. Photos must be from 4″x6″ to 8″x10″, and may be matte or glossy finish. Photos should be professional-quality, as the clarity and contrast are critically important for proper reproduction.

No payment is made to the artist or gallery providing the artwork. No payment or photo credit is provided to the professional photographer taking the photo, if applicable. (cozumelparks.com)

Artists may send as many samples as they wish, and we will keep those accepted on file and use them as needed. Artists are limited to four Art Gallery pages per calendar year.

There is no set publication date for artwork, but each artist receives a copy of the magazine on which his or her artwork appears.
