    Default Recommendations for foodie blogs

I'm sitting here feeling sorry for myself because I just had surgery on my nose - skin cancer removed - and have a great big bandage on it, plus stitches in back of my ear from the skin graft - very irritating and unsightly! So... to make myself feel better I need to find some good recipes for comfort foods. Anyone have some good blog suggestions for outrageous comfort foods for poor little ol' me?

    skinny taste
    chocolate covered katie
    spoon fork bacon
    fifteen spatulas

These are some of my faves!
From now on, ponyfixer, i'll include foot note references.

Sorry to hear about the skin cancer. I had a basal (sp) cell carcinoma taken off my shoulder not to long ago and a couple of pre-cancerous places taken off my back before then. I was lucky enough not to need a skin graft. That can't be fun.

OK, food blogs. I love food blogs. I could weigh you down with them. LOL!

There's always the Pioneer Woman: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/ She should have a link somewhere on her page for Tasty Kitchen. Oh wait - found it: http://tastykitchen.com/

And Dutch Girl Cooking is good: http://www.kayotic.nl/blog/

I have more if you want but these are some of my favorites.

Simply So Good is one of my favorites! And she just added some fantastic recipes for sweets.

www.chowhound.com is entertaining, but not really for just recipes. I've learned a lot about food traditions in other countries and US regions, become reacquainted with foods from my childhood through others remembering them too, and had some good laughs over a few of the people that are pompous beyond belief on there.

I really like this one for easy and great recipe ideas http://damndelicious.tumblr.com

www.egullet.com is a fun to read forum.

    Another fun forum is www.roadfood.com
Great for amature trip reports with plenty of pics and descriptions (food porn) and also pro reviews, suggestions on where to eat on any given road trip and general food discussion.

I just discovered foodgawker this week and it is my new favorite thing! I tried 3 recipes on there (from different blogs) and they were all fantastic.

Another vote for Smitten Kitchen. Food52.com is a compedium of bloggers and posters, very well done and so many great recipes and techniques explained, plus book reviews, discussions, etc.
