Childhood songs that randomly pop into your head
Does anyone else occasionally have random childhood songs pop into their head?
Like "Catalina Medalina woopside ?side opalakapoka was her name" about a girl with 2 teeth and 2 hairs on "the top of her head"?
Or
"Senor Don Gato was a cat. On a high red roof Don Gato sat"
Or
the hawiian song where "the humahumanukanukasomething something go swimming by"

Ha! Cute thread!! Don't know those, but I do get the Worm Song "nobody likes me, ev'rybody hates me, I'm gonna go eat worms..." and "Gigantor, Gigantor, Giga-a-antor! Gigantor the space age robot..." etc and Mr L does the Batman themesong which luckily has only one word plus all the dooddadooddadooddadooddas.

Every once in a while, the last line from a song we used to sing at the end of every Kindergarten day, "I will look both ways when I cross the street." I cannot remember the entire song. It probably was very cute.

Nice thread -
Out of my window looking in the night
I can see the barges twinkling light
Starboard shines green and port is glowing red
I can see the barges up ahead.
Barges, I would like to go with you
I would like to sail the ocean blue
Barges, have you treasure in your hold
do you fight with pirates brave and bold
I work right along side the missisippi river and I think of this great song almost every day.

CONSTANTLY! I thought I was the only one this happened to. I never get normal songs in my head.
The most recent was "The Bear Went Over The Mountain."

well, I had a friend name Sallie who taught me "The Mule Song" and after that I used to find "Fifteen Years on the Erie Canal" popping into my head ...
Lately I've been singing "Haul Out the Holly" from Mame a lot ... not a kids' song but we did Mame when I was in high school ...

Playmate, come out and play with me
And bring your dollies three
Climb up my apple tree
Look down my rain barrel
Slide down my cellar door
And we'll be jollie friends
Forever more

Did you know that if you say the word "GULLIBLE" really softly, it sounds like "ORANGES"?

Log rolls down stairs
and over chairs
And over your neighbors dog.
It's great for a snack,
It fits on your back
It's log, log , LOG!
It's log, it's log,
It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
It's log, it's log,
It's better than bad, it's good.

Remember the circle game where you slap each other's hands and sing, "down by the banks where they hanky panky where the bullfrogs jump from bank to banky singing eeps ieps ops opps, twiddle lee dee and goes kerplop!" Or something like that. And the person whose hand is slapped at 'plop' is out, and the circle shrinks....
a ton of Disney songs but that's because I listen to that stuff more than a normal, functioning adult should.
And the Mr Rogers neighborhood song!
MrB's attempt at talking like a horse person, "We'll be entering in the amateur hunter-gatherer division...."
