    Default COTH Insta-friend Network

A lot of the threads this OT-Day are making me sad.

So I just want to toss it out there:

I live in Western Mass, right near the 5-college area. I'm in my early twenties, but don't mind hanging out with older people! I unfortunately don't have a suitable guest horse, but I can offer all the brushing time that anyone needs. Also: I love movies (of all types!) and eating out, or even just getting coffee or a bagel.

So if you're anywhere near me, and you're feeling lonely or sad, just PM me, and we can hang out. Or if you just want a digital penpal, I'm game for that too and I'm a great listener.

What a nice thing to offer. You are a very good-hearted person.

What a great idea! I'm friends with a few COTHers via FB, and it looks like Willow will be boarding at a place another COTHer suggested when we move to KY. She keeps her horse there, and I'm looking forward to it.

If anybody is in the Northern VT area (or the Louisville KY area after March) I'm always game for some new friends. I do have a plus 1 99% of the time, but she's pretty friendly.

Always game for new virtual friends as well! I feel like I'm pimpin' myself out here, but in reality I'm lonely. I stay at home with somebody whose highest level of communication is grunting and the occasional "Ick felf" concert.

    Great idea Gallop!

I too am always game to meet new people. I love introducing people to irish horses or let them enjoy kissing foal noses in summer.

I'm in the Portland, OR area--I know there are lots of COTHrs lurking around up here. Are any of you attending the OHJA banquet in January? I'll be there! I'm always up for a meet-up--we really should have one. Goodness knows we could always pick a brew pub and lift a few pints to our good steeds. I am friends with Horsepoor and Lurker, and have met Heinz 57. I'll bet I've spoken with others over the years, too.

If anybody needs to talk or drink after all this craziness, give me a PM!

Hey! Don't forget I'm just up the road. Until you move to KY and then that's really down the road!

A word of caution, please meet first in a neutral place and don't give too much personal information up front, until you know who is behind a poster's name.

The voice of experience here, as I ended up with an obsessive stalker, by being friendly and polite.

Bluey has a great point. Did you meet your stalker on here?

I have to say, I have made a couple of good friends thanks to COTH and us all going "HEY! We live near each other, let's meet."

No, on another horse forum, the administration banned him, he kept showing up with alters, I came here, he followed but could not do much else.

Just a general warning, there are those out there, who doesn't remember the ones exposed in threads here, that are not who they say they are.

Once you know someone, to make friends seems like a lovely idea.

My mother equipped me with a rape whistle and healthy dose of general mistrust by the age of two, so I am all up to date on avoiding stalkers and crazies. But it is a valid point, thanks Bluey!

What a lovely idea, GoForAGallop! I wish I was still in MA; I'd take you up on the offer!

I'm in the Ocala area and always happy to meet new people and make new friends. Always down for a trail ride on the Greenway or at Gothe State Forrest! I'll also be at HITS almost every week And I do have a guest-friendly horse; it's always nice to get two of the boys out!
Nine out of ten times, you'll get it wrong...but it's that tenth time that you get it right that makes all the difference.

It is, but under new management. DH and I ate there the other night, and I was a bit disappointed by the new menu but the food was DELISH!
