Kelly Cruciotti just had a pretty solid trip - just a bit forward, but that seemed to be how her horse went.

Emily Hartley a bit coming and going in places - deep to the first swedish and a little play after the hand gallop.

Jacob Pope was quite lovely. Had a beautiful handgallop to the last jump.

Jacob was outstanding. He uses an automatic release, which few have the ability or the inclination to do, but it results in total control so there seems to be very little left to chance with his riding.

I think that was about the only thing you could fault in his round. We should know soon if they will hit him hard for it. It wasn't ideal, but he made it work out.

    Perhaps a little known factoid:

The Maclay course must be a figure eight.

In the old days, it was a regualr figure 8, with the center jumped in both directions.

Now the figure eight is disguised with other jumps and lines around it. But there is still a figure eight in the course.

Ali Cornish tried to do a daring inside turn through the triple to the last jump but had the back rail of the Swedish down

Did not know that! But thinking back on all the finals I've seen over the year, you are right--and it explains why I though this course seemed stragely familiar.

I missed Lillie Keenan. How do I find the archived rounds?

I got all the standby numbers, but not in order...? I'll assume someone else was sharper than I was!

First standby has Lillie Keenan on top, followed by Jacob Pope, then Lauren Tyree. Just what I had. The judges got it right!

Nikki Diamantis put in a solid trip! That horse looks tough to stay with.

Solid trip for Hannah Von Heidegger. A bit quick to the last jump.
