    Default Tallahassee equestrian property

Retiring to Tallahassee next spring. I have been looking for horse property directly on trails. I've seen many nice properties but they don't mention trails other than Tallahassee Ranch Club. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I live in Tallahassee. I do not know of any land that is ON trails.

Do NOT think too hard about Tallahassee Ranch Club. It is NOT what the pictures show. It is/was planted pines WAY out of town. There are not many houses built as of right now. They started at $119,000 for 8 acres. They are now down to $59,000 for 8 acres!

I will ask around to see if there is any land that are right on trails. (I do not have a horse but dream and read CoTH to get my horse fix.) Please feel free to email me to ask about any areas/land you hear about.

We do have the National Forest that may have horse trails. I know they have Motorcycle/ATV trails but they have so restricted the area that it has been ruined due to overuse.

You may also want to look outside of Tallahassee proper. I live 35 miles west, and near me is a gorgeous equestrian property for sale. The drive East to Tallahassee is super easy -- hop on I-10 and I'm there in no time. I work there, so it is a drive I make every day. I can be at my office faster than people that live "in" town, and yet have a commute that involves traffic.

I do frequently haul to Tallahassee to ride with friends. There are several really good trails that are maintained by the city/county, and there are also miles of National Forest trails. You can find horse properties for sale that are close to the Miccosukee greenway, for instance, but mostly the homes that are close to the greenway are regular subdivisions, with no room for keeping horses at home.

I'll be glad to answer questions to help as well!

I have a friend that bought property off Lake Talquin and the trails are supposed to be gorgeous in that area.

I went to Fla state and loved Tally, but I agree it's better to live in a small town outside the city.

Look up the Suwannee water management website as they have lots of properties with trails all over that area.

I agree. I'm in Monticello, which is about 25 miles east of Tally. Beautiful, WAY WAY cheaper to live, and lots of horses.
