Default Spider Invasion! Picts may totally creep some out

    http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow...165958059.html

My all organic tendacies would be oh so done if this ever happened to my place. Bring on the chemicals & flame throwers!

That looks like an old run in shed in the pict. I am sure I would be running out in horror. Who am I kidding, I would NEVER walk thru all that to even check out the run in shed.

I can only hope the "normally solitary" wolf spiders that populate my barn in the summer don't read this and get ideas.

I am not looking at links either, especially when warned.
I kind of like spiders, just not when they run the world.
Especially some we have here, black widows and brown recluses, that can make you very sick if you happen to annoy them, like sticking your foot in a boot you have not used for long they decided made a nice house for them, you are not using it anyway.

I was okay until I got to the close up shot. OMG! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

I had a solitary Huntsman spider in my house a few months ago. I still can't go into my bedroom without checking the corners of the ceiling.

Kinda glad the pictures wouldnt load on my phone since I'm currently getting a pedicure. Im sure the lady working on my feet wouldnt be thrilled if I shrieked and kicked her in the face as a reaction to spider pictures...

Ew ew EW. I should have known better than to open pics in a thread called Spider Invasion.

I would die, just die, if I ever came upon something like that.

CurbAppeal...probably not the best thing to find in your house if you're an arachnophobe!

Nothing like a spider big enough to HEAR when it runs across the floor, wall or ceiling.

Oh, and the filmmakers can't claim "no spiders were hurt in the making of this movie," the archnid-abusing bustards. I saw one run over! For shame.

    Back OT and pro-spider:

Great pictures. The Pakistan one was beautiful.

And the Aussies pointed out that the spiders were doing a service. Moving above ground to escape the water, they were chowing down on mosquitos and other insect whatnot (that came with the water and also comes with impending Armageddon).

So stop ragging on the spiders. How many blood-sucking, itch-making, malaria-transmitting mosquitos have you killed in your lifetime? Uh, huh, just as I thought: not too many compared to even one spider in its short, small and unobtrusive lifetime.

And a spider has a small carbon footprint, too.

Oh, theoretically I love spiders. I think all chelicerates are pretty neat little things.

But I would have seven thousand heart attacks if I walked out of my door and saw that. Grateful, for the lack of mosquitoes, but likely dead (see: heart attacks).

My rational brain loves 'em, but it can't convince my flight instinct.

I saw that in the news yesterday, & as a hard-core confirmed arachnophobic, I was shell-shocked. Can't even remotely IMAGINE how I'd deal with something like that. Would have been long gone or put a bullet through my head WAY before the webbing/invasion reached that point. Geesh.
