    Default Long black fleece-lined girth?

I know I am not the only person who has a black jumping saddle out there, so hopefully I can get some help.

My horse really prefers a fleece-lined nylon girth over anything else. Unfortunately, finding a black one has been a bit of a headache. I have a 52" leather girth I am using with a girth cover, but I know he will be more comfortable in a fleece one. If anyone knows a retailer that has long black fleece girth, I would appreciate the head's-up.

    Thanks!

Check out Dover closeouts - I got a long black fleece lined girth from them a few months ago. They may still have them. I think it's a Circuit...? I really like it and it was well under $100 on closeout.

I search and ask and ask and search, but still don't love what I've come up with. I am currently using a professional's choice: http://www.jefferspet.com/ssc/produc...&pf_id=0030881

    Other possibilities: http://www.equestriancollections.com...upcode=JP00548

    http://store.walshharness.com/produc...73000.56.0.0.0

    http://summittack.com/prod-Synthetic..._Girth-31.aspx

Hippostar had one that amazon carried for a while, but currently not in stock

If you don't mind paying a fortune, Mattes does one: http://www.equestriancollections.com...upcode=WE03749

barnsby does leather with fleece as a opposed to nylon: http://www.barnsby.com/products/acce...th/default.asp

I will be watching with interest to see what others know of

Thanks! My budget doesn't allow for leather or Mattes (drool) but I will check on the others...

I have the Professional's Choice one. It's fine. Personally I would strongly prefer to have one with fleece that matched the nylon (and didn't show the dirt!) but that's because my horse loves nothing more than to finish up our rides with a good splash in the pond

I had one custom made by Toklat. It's black nylon with black fleece lining. I couldn't find one and I needed a 56!

I'd love an inexpensive brown one for my picky bay mare, if anyone has any ideas. I bought her a fancy real sheepskin one and she HATED it: dressage instructor thought she was lame, but she was just fine when we changed back to her $20 el cheapo to finish the lesson.

Not sure where "inexpensive" falls for you, $40 for the Lettia which I think is quite nice: http://www.jeffersequine.com/ssc/pro...&pf_id=0031750

    $27 for the Ovation: http://www.horseloverz.com/Ovation-F...pr-277734.html

Dover has the Shires fleece girth for $33

I have the Pro Choice in brown with removeable sheepskin and elastic on both ends. Very nice, but I needed one 2" longer than I thought (and I measured twice).

Thanks, Scubed, but those are what I have (and she loves). I've love one with brown fleece to blend in with her Highness's coat.

I have one that I somehow inherited from the barn lost in found. It had been in there for (no kidding here) 5 YEARS. Seriously. I ended up borrowing it for something and BO told me to keep it. It's black with cream fleece. Thing is, I have a brown saddle, but I figure unless you're standing right there you can't tell anyway. Sadly it is only a 46 so it won't help your dilemma.

drafttack.com will custom make black nylon girths with black felt or black fleece lining. I think they can make any length. I was trying to post the link but their site won't load for some reason.

Mine measures dead on. I bought the 48 first (measured at the shop), but it was too small. Measured the 50 at the shop, too, and it fits perfectly.

I figure the sheepskin thickness makes more of a difference than I thought.

SOME places (Horseloverz.com I am looking in YOUR direction) measure girths funny. I called Horseloverz.com to ask if their girth measurements included the buckles or not and they told me they measured to the mid-point of each buckle. Maybe Prof. Choice does something similar . . .
