I purchased a brand new Stubben Roxane with Delux leather (not from a tack shop) so im not sure who else to ask, but....When I ride in it, should I use a saddle pad or not? I have seen some saddle makers tell first time buyers to use no saddle pad for the first 20+ rides.
When I bought my Stubben, my tack store owner (extremely knowledgeable) advised conditioning thoroughly with Hammanol and bending and tying the flaps with pantyhose to help the flaps soften and accept curvature. It worked a treat.

Thank you everyone for your input. I did call Stubben and they did say, if im riding just one horse, then it is advised to ride in this saddle, no pad, for atleast 20 hrs, for the sweat to help mold the saddle to him.
And thanks Woodland...the only reason I purchased it was, I found it brand new on craigslist, never been on a horse, and it was in my seat size, and correct tree size. Trust me, if I purchased it new, I would still be saving my pennies for it, probably for the next year or so!!
