I was so excited that I wouldn't be back until 6pm tonight. Thought I'd check in and find an answer... NOOOO.

Instead I'm clicking "refresh" pretty regularly!

Looks like we may yet hit 1500 on this thread.

epona, can't you call your friend again? Surely she's home by NOW?!?!?!?

And wouldn't it be just like her to say, "Weeellllll, I think he's sold,......", after all this angst!

    Well... guys...

It sounds like it's actually over....

They were "kind" enough to have the vet check done early. Sent friend digital films that she went over with her vet back in KY. Films show calcifications in ankles and hocks which will eventually cause them to fuse. (No, I don't have any way of knowing if films were actually of the horse or to what degree this showed, nor do I know if this is an life-altering as one may make it out to be...) Vet projected only 2-3 years left of jumping for this horse.

That said, the guy was, shockingly, a real ass on the phone and ripped her farrier a new one, saying how horrible the horse was shod and whatnot.

So, they haggled over price and while they offered 2500 less than the contracted price, she only came down 1000 less than contracted price. She said she was ready to just be done with it and worried that if he came back she'd have a hard time selling him with what the vet check showed. (HL, can you illustrate her spine crawling back the other direction??) Oh, and friend told them that she would, under no circumstances, be paying a commission to thing 1 or 2.

They're sending a cashier's check in the mail... hopefully it'll come!

Crap...I'm going to have to throw them in and fold. Going to be out of touch for 3 days here...maybe sneak a peek tomorrow on the work machine with a firewall from hell that thinks all attempts at paragraph spacing or editing have malicious intent.

Bye y'all. Check in Sunday. To friggin cold to be doing anything else except sipping a toddy while fools play a game in Wisconsin. My horse would give me the dirtiest look if I so much as unbuckled a surcingle on her blanket.

This could die or continue to replace scripted TV.

Something tells me it isn't over yet! Who says a week from now she still won't have the check????? But, if she does get the check then good for her...$1000 less of the asking price isn't the end of the world! What is strange to me is 3 years isn't that long and I wouldn't buy a horse who only had 3 years left of jumping.............hell, it takes at least a year to develop a good partnership.

Heck, the P.O. knows when money is in the envelope! A regular old letter or bill takes one day to travel between here and Atlanta. A check always takes at least a week. I kid you not

We'll be talking about this for ages. First the check has to get there, then it has to clear....
