USEF Adds Two Observation Events For Olympic Eventing Team

The U.S. Equestrian Federation announced two additional CCI*** events were added as selection trials for the 2012 Olympic Games eventing team.

The U.S. Equestrian Federation announced two additional CCI*** events were added as selection trials for the 2012 Olympic Games eventing team.

The Tattersalls International CCI*** in Ratoath, Ireland, May 31-June 3, and the Bromont International CCI*** in Bromont, Canada, June 7-10, will both be observed.

These are in addition to the Rolex Kentucky CCI****, the Mitsubishi Motors Horse Trials (England), the Jersey Fresh CCI*** and the Saumur CCI*** (France), which will take place over the next four weeks.

Additionally, the Barbury Castle Horse Trials in Marlborough, England, will be the final mandatory outing for eventing athletes attempting to claim a spot on the U.S. eventing team for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The event runs June 28 – July 1, and it will serve as a final preparation for several international teams. The members of the 2012 Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team will be announced on July 2

 

As stated in the selection procedures, all short listed athlete/horse combinations are required to demonstrate their continued preparation, soundness and ability by competing at the mandatory outing. U.S. selectors and veterinarians will be on hand to observe.
