And now Diniz, 45, and the dynamic chestnut mare “Fitti” head to Rio having earned one of 15 quota spots allotted by the FEI to compete at the Olympics as an individual as the top performer of the South Western Europe qualifying group,.
When the U.S. Show Jumping Team for the Rio Olympic Games was named, McLain Ward and HH Azur’s names were on the list, making the fourth consecutive Olympic team on which Ward has served. They will compete alongside Beezie Madden and Cortes ‘C,’ Kent Farrington and Voyeur and Lucy Davis and Barron at Rio in August.
The U.S. Equestrian Federation has named four athlete-and-horse combinations to the U.S. Olympic Show Jumping Team and one traveling reserve combination for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Show Jumping competition at the Games will take place Aug. 12-19 at the Deodoro Olympic Equestrian Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The following athlete-and-horse combinations will compose the team (in alphabetical order):
Lucy Davis of Los Angeles, Calif., and Old Oak Farm's Barron, a 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding
Equestrian Australia announced its full show jumping team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on June 28. Two riders—Scott Keach and Edwina Tops-Alexander were previously announced due to strong spring results.

Irishman Greg Broderick was just chosen by Horse Sport Ireland Jumping Team Manager Robert Splaine to be the individual show jumping representative of Ireland at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
Broderick, 30, will ride MHS Going Global, a horse he’s ridden since the gelding was 5.
