Since 2015 eventers have had a chance to compete in the middle of the equestrian paradise of Wellington, Florida, at the $100,000 Land Rover Wellington Eventing Showcase, but the competition won’t run in 2018 according to Equestrian Sport Productions. The group anticipates it will return in 2019.

The event was held on the expansive derby field in early February at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival grounds. Boyd Martin was the winner for all three years, but the event also featured guest riders like William Fox-Pitt and Mark Todd.

An Equestrian Sport Productions spokesperson explained that a change in schedule forced the cancellation.

“Schedule and location changes to show jumping classes at the Winter Equestrian Festival will prevent the Wellington Eventing Showcase from running this year at PBIEC,” said the statement from ESP. “The management team is looking forward to adding the Wellington Eventing Showcase back to the calendar for the 2019 season.”
