Tamie Smith brought a caravan of horses east this month from her Southern California base to prepare for the spring three-days, and her trip got off to a great start at the LiftMaster Grand-Prix Eventing at Bruce’s Field in Aiken, South Carolina, March 5-6.

She rode two horses, Alex and Ellen Ahearn and Eric Markell’s 15-year-old German Sport Horse gelding Mai Baum (Loredano—Ramiro, Rike), and Ruth Bley’s Danito into first and second place after dressage and show jumping. She fell off Danito on cross-country but captured the win with Mai Baum, her 2019 Pan American Games (Peru) team gold medal-winning partner.
