After winning their first CDI outing since July of 2018, Olivia LaGoy-Weltz and Lonoir followed up in grand style, scoring a personal best of 80.49% to win the FEI World Cup qualifier freestyle at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival on Jan. 24 in Wellington, Florida.
LaGoy-Weltz used “Lono’s” time out of the ring due to a hoof issue to good measure, revising her choreography and aiming to make the difficulty so high that it was only “80% possible.”
“We spent months setting it up for the highest degree of difficulty possible, and then I just hoped we pulled off the technicality and the judges like the music,” said LaGoy-Weltz.
