USEF Names Short List For WEG Dressage Team

The U.S Equestrian Federation has announced the short list for the U.S. Dressage Team at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The list is as follows, in ranked order:

The U.S Equestrian Federation has announced the short list for the U.S. Dressage Team at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The list is as follows, in ranked order:

  • Tina Konyot of Palm City, Fla., on Calecto V, a 12-year-old Danish Warmblood stallion owned by Tina Konyot and John Byrialsen.
  • Todd Flettrich of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., on Otto, a 14-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding owned by Cherry Knoll Farm.
  • Katherine Bateson-Chandler of Wellington, Fla., on Nartan, a 15-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Jane Forbes Clark.
  • Steffen Peters of San Diego, Calif., on Ravel, a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Four Winds Farm.
  • Catherine Haddad of Vechta, Germany, on Winyamaro, a 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding owned by the rider.
  • Pierre St. Jacques of Anthony, Fla., on Lucky Tiger, a 15-year-old Danish Warmblood owned by the rider.
  • Sue Blinks of Encinitas, Calif., on Robin Hood, a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by The Minnesota Group, LLC.
  • Jan Ebeling of Moorpark, Calif., on Rafalca, a 13-year-old Oldenberg mare owned by Ann Romney and Amy Ebeling.

The short list was decided after the USEF Selection Trials, held Aug. 6-8 and Aug. 13-15 in Gladstone, N.J. Konyot placed first over Flettrich and Bateson-Chandler. Peters was named to the fourth-ranked position without competing in the trials based on his prior results.

Four riders will compete for the United States at the WEG. The team and alternates will be named sometime prior to the deadline for submission of definite entries on September 22.
