PARK TRADER and Buck Davidson had a beautiful round, taking the inside turn at the Water Park at fence 5, making the Park Question at fence 7 look easy, jumping easily through fence 9 the Frog Pond the fast way and showing riders how to angle the Offset Brushes at 16AB. He took the right side rails at the Head of the Lake (18AB-19ABC), with Park Trader looking a second at the corner in the water but making it over easily to finish just 6 seconds outside the optimum time.

BELLANY ROCK and Selena O’Hanlon had a runout at the corner in the Head of Lake, 19C.

SEACOOKIE TSF and William Fox-Pitt went awkwardly through the Park Question, peeked and stuttered at the ditch, came awkwardly out, then backed off the Keepers Brush (fence 22) and took the long way at the Offset Brushes (fence 16AB). He had a rough ride out over the corner in the Head of the Lake but sits 16th with just some time penalties collected today.

PAWLOW and Will Faudree had a runout at the brush at fence 5C, the Frog Pond. They took the long way at the corner at fence 12AB, the Tobacco Stripping Bench and Whisky Corners, then pulled up and retired.

TRADING ACES and Phillip Dutton had a class round, taking all the fastest routes, and you could see Phillip check his watch as he came to the last fences, note that he had the time in hand, and slow down to cross the finish line right on the optimum time for the first double clear of the day and a win of the Land Rover Evoque for two years for the ride closest to optimum.

COPYCAT CHLOE and Allison Springer had a refusal at the goose in the Water Park, 5B, and retired.

RF DEMETER and Marilyn Little took all the fastest routes, though the horse seemed slightly tired near the end, hitting the second horse barn at fence 25AB but finishing double clear to stand in fourth place.

PAVAROTTI and Jessica Phoenix withdrew.

MANOIR DE CARNEVILLE and Sinead Halpin were flying through all the quick routes, though they had an awkward effort over the fish (18B) in the Head of the Lake and took down the flag at the corner at 23B but posted one of the day’s double clears.

ZATOPEK B and Jonathan Holling almost refused at the hedge at 5C, climbing over it, and later had a runout at the Offset Brushes (16B) after climbing over 16A and a second runout at the C element of the Normandy Bank (21ABCD) and retired.

MADISON PARK and Kyle Carter fell at the log into the Head of the Lake (18A). The horse sustained small elbow lacerations and abrasions, which required some sutures, but he is resting comfortably at the barn.

RAFFERTY’S RULES and Sharon White had a runout at the corner at 12B and a fall of horse and rider at the oxer at coming out of the Land Rover Hollow (14ABC), but horse and rider walked home.

MENSA G and Michael Pollard jumped easily through all the questions.

CAMBALDA and Jennie Brannigan jumped to the right of the red flag on the corner at 12B and were eliminated, although she was not pulled up on course.

NO BOUNDARIES and Erin Sylvester had a fall of rider at the oxer at the Normandy bank (21ABCD).

HERE’S TO YOU and Emily Beshear ran past the corner at the bottom of Land Rover Hollow (14ABC), took the long way at the Offset Brushes (16AB) and the long way at the Head of the Lake, then had a runout at the brushes at the third element of the Normandy bank (21ABCD) and retired.

PIRATE and Meghan O’Donoghue looked confident as they produced one of the faster clear rounds of the day.

THE ALCHEMYST and Debbie Rosen had two refusals going into water at fence 5A and retired.

PARKER and James Alliston had just a few sticky moments at the goose at 5B, where he added a step, and the corner in the Land Rover Hollow (14ABC), where he took the flag down. He made a fast approach to the Offset Brushes and had a little struggle for the second one but finished with the fastest time of the day.

IRISH RHYTHM and Rachel McDonough had a fantastic clear first trip around their first four-star.

LAST CALL and Alexandra Knowles were sticky through the Park Question at 7ABCD and fell at fence 8 after the horse backed off to the ditch and landed roughly over it.

HOUDINI and Katie Frei took the long route at the Water Park at fence 5ABC, the long way at the Offset Brush (fence 16AB), then ran by the corner in the Head of the Lake (19C). But by the time she crossed the finish line, she was pumping her fist and patting her horse, looking delighted.

REVE DU ROUET and Sarah Bullimore had a sticky climb through the Water Park (5ABC) but looked lovely around the rest of her clear but slightly slow round.

FERNHILL FLUTTER and Kevin Keane had a runout at the corner in the Land Rover Hollow (14ABC) but still completed their first four-star.

MR. MEDICOTT and Phillip Dutton took tight lines that looked foot perfect throughout the course.

EXPEDIENCE and Kaitlin Spurlock had a runout at the corner (19C) in the Head of the Lake, and the horse pulled up lame. The horse injured his right front leg, was transported back to the stables and examined by the veterinary team. It was determined that he sustained a fracture to the foot, and it has been stabilized and transported to an equine surgical hospital for surgical evaluation.

VERONICA and Lauren Kieffer took the long way at the Land Rover Hollow (14ABC), was held before fence 17 while Expedience was attended to, and had a brief sticky moment when leaving a leg at the log into the Head of the Lake (18A) but produced an otherwise brilliant ride.

HOUSTON and Daniel Clasing had a sticky fence out of the Frog Pond (9B) but was OK, then he was held on course but finished inside the time.

ENCHANTEZ and Lindsay Oaks had a runout at 5C, then jumped out over the ropes over a Rolex sign into the spectator area but completed the course.
