Elkton, Md.—Oct. 13
After three years of waiting, the inaugural Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill is officially underway. The action started with the first horse inspection for the five-star competitors. Forty-six horses presented. Two combinations who were on the overnight draw order, Boyd Martin with Long Island T and Lexi Scovil with Chico’s Man VDF Z, did not present.
Two horses were sent to the holding box: Leslie Law’s Voltaire De Tre and Sharon White’s Cooley On Show. Voltaire De Tre was accepted when he was represented, but Cooley On Show was spun and will not compete.
Forty-five combinations will contest dressage, which begins at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14.
