The Equine Disease Communication Center confirmed on March 10 that there is a case of equine herpesvirus (EHV-1) in Los Angeles.

A 12-year-old warmblood gelding who was displaying neurological signs tested positive for the non-neuropathogenic strain on March 9 and is being treated by veterinarians. Forty-five potentially exposed horses have been quarantined, and there are no additional cases at this time.
