Pantsu Is Aiming To Pull Off Another Surprise
The 2002 bronze medalist has only gained more experience since the World Equestrian Games,  writes Birgit Popp.


With the possible exception of dressage rider Kyra Kyrklund, Pia Pantsu is Finland's most famous rider. For many years their paths have crossed at the Swedish National Stud Farm Flyinge, and Kyrklund has been helping Pantsu with her dressage.

Pantsu Is Aiming To Pull Off Another Surprise
The 2002 bronze medalist has only gained more experience since the World Equestrian Games,  writes Birgit Popp.

With the possible exception of dressage rider Kyra Kyrklund, Pia Pantsu is Finland’s most famous rider. For many years their paths have crossed at the Swedish National Stud Farm Flyinge, and Kyrklund has been helping Pantsu with her dressage.

Pantsu still uses the facilities of Flyinge for her training, but with her boyfriend “Fredde” Jonsson, the son of ’72 Olympics individual bronze medalist Jan Jonsson and an international eventer himself, she runs her own barn near the famous stud farm.

On several occasions, the sports psychologist had been close to an individual medal, and finally in the 2002 World Equestrian Games, while still recovering from a broken leg, she won the bronze aboard Yp
