Lexington, Ky.—Aug. 14
The day belonged to Scott Stewart in the Platinum Performance USHJA 3’/3’3″ Green Hunter Incentive Championship, with his rides taking the top three placings in the second qualifying round. All three horses—Mayflower, Sandstone and Charlemagne—are owned by Betsee Parker and will move forward to tomorrow’s championship round.
“I thought they all were great; [Mayflower] was awesome,” said Stewart. “I thought all three went equally as well. I was really happy with them. I was thrilled.”
One hundred and forty-one horses contested the two qualifying rounds, and now 30 horse-and-rider pairs will move forward. But it’s a clean slate championship round, so anything can happen tomorrow.
