Wellington, Fla.—Apr. 4
On the second-to-last day of the 2021 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, Greg Crolick and the 10-year-old Mecklenburg gelding Chappy (Chacco Blue—Chakira Z) ended the season on a high note with a win in Saturday’s $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, held on the derby field of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival.
“It feels this wonderful for this big of a win,” Crolick said after the class. “We keep plugging along, and you’re always in the hunt, you hope. Some days are good, some days are bad, but today is absolutely wonderful for the client and my sponsors. It takes a huge team to do this.”
