The Cheshire Foxhounds Hunting For Jake Spectacular is set to take place on Dec. 18 to benefit Jake Chalfin, the Pennsylvania amateur steeplechase jockey who was injured earlier this year at the Blue Ridge Races on Sept. 18.
The suggested donation is $100 for members, and guests will be asked to contribute $150 in lieu of a capping fee to the Jake Chalfin Beneficial Trust (non-tax deductible) or The American Steeplechase Injured Jockey’s Fund (tax deductible).

Chalfin is scheduled to be discharged from the Magee Rehab Center in Philadelphia, Pa., on Dec. 17, and then he’ll move to a handicap accessible hotel room with a caregiver to begin a full day outpatient program according to his father Richard Chalfin. He hopes to return home at the end of January. Though still paralyzed from the chest down, his rehabilitation is becoming more independent, and he’s making progress.
For people wishing to participate in the hunt, checks may be sent in ahead of time to Susan Jordan in the hunt office: Cheshire Hunt Conservancy, P.O Box 528, Unionville, Pa., 19375-0528. For more information, contact Paddy Neilson at 610-869-3080 or visit chasinforchalfin.com
