Matthias Rath has been riding Totilas for less than a year, but he’s already racked up impressive wins aboard the world champion stallion, such as triple victories at the Aachen CHIO (Germany) this past summer. However, he won’t be aiming for the 2012 Reem Acra FEI World Cup title. German newspapers and online news outlets reported that Rath will instead focus on the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The news comes prior to the first Western European League qualifier in Odense, Denmark, beginning this weekend on Oct. 21.

The last outing for “Toto” and Rath was at the European Dressage Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in late August. There, they earned team silver with Germany and top five finishes in all three Grand Prix tests.
Rath and the 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion (Gribaldi—Lominka, Glendale) may still compete in World Cup-qualifying events but contesting the Final in April in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, won’t be on the agenda.
