No Sleep Until Cross-Country

Courtney Cooper is at the Kentucky Horse Park for her second Rolex Kentucky CCI**** with her homebred Who’s A Star, and she’s taking Chronicle readers along for the week by blogging each day.

It’s always interesting at competitions when you think to yourself, “I’m good, not stressing at all,” and then you find yourself not really sleeping after 3 a.m.

Who’s A Star, “Tag,” came out yesterday and gave me a very good test. The changes were good, and I thought the trot work was relaxed and supple.

I will be interested to see the judges’ remarks to see how I can improve.

Then it was off to cross-country and, well, it’s true to the level, some very hard questions, some scope tests and lots of galloping.

Walking, walking and more walking.

Today I will spend some more time with it to get comfortable, or at least as comfortable as one can get at Rolex.
