Gary Baker Passes Away

Noted horse show manager, judge, breeder and trainer Gary Baker passed away at his home in Middleburg, Va., on the morning of Jan. 27. He was 72.

Baker was an integral part of the horse show and racing world in Virginia and Maryland. You can read a Chronicle profile of him here

Steve Guerdat Loses Jalisca Solier

Swiss show jumper Steve Guerdat officially retired his great mare Jalisca Solier in December at the Geneva CSIO, but he sadly had to say goodbye to her for good on Jan. 26 when the 17-year-old Selle Francais was euthanized following a pasture accident.
