Katie has a passion for eventing and equine-related sports. She has over 20 years of riding experience, including founding and managing Deerfield Sport Horses in Upperville, Virginia, as well as competing in a variety of disciplines, from the upper levels of eventing and dressage to finishing the Mongol Derby in 2019. After taking a step back from riding professionally, Katie was hired to manage a dog and cat rescue, a job which included revamping their internal software and development program. An animal lover, Katie has personally fostered over 400 dogs and cats while they awaited adopted to their forever homes.

Katie joined the Chronicle in 2023 as advertising production manager after selling and implementing horse show management and scoring software. Katie has also served as the ticketing and hospitality manager for the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill.

In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time riding her horses and hanging out with her six dogs, 25 chickens and her pet pig, Miss Piggy.
