Caitlin Calder managed to get hooked on horses while growing up in New York City. Following her graduation from Mount Holyoke College (Massachusetts) with a degree in art history, Caitlin followed her passion to a career riding and training professionally while producing her own OTTB through the CCI4*-L level in eventing. After working for some of America’s top event riders, Caitlin decided to give her body a break and began working for the Chronicle in 2017.
Caitlin now lives in San Diego with her partner, two step-tweens, one deaf dog, two dogs who can hear but don’t listen, a turtle and python (who so far has only gone missing in the house for a whole week once). She enjoys living where it’s mostly sunny all the time and doesn’t get cold.
