West Palm Beach, Fla., Jan. 28—As the first to go in the last set of riders in the freestyle at the World Dressage Masters, Steffen Peters found himself in the uncomfortable position of patiently waiting ringside to see if anyone could top his score of 83.70 percent with Ravel.
Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin was last in the ring, and if anyone could do it, it was going to be her mount Valegro.
West Palm Beach, Fla., Jan. 28—Adrienne Lyle was wearing an ear-to-ear grin as she finished up her Grand Prix Special test at the World Dressage Masters with Wizard, and it’s a safe bet she won’t stop smiling anytime soon.
Just 27 years old, Lyle has never ridden in a World Dressage Masters before. “I’m so thrilled with the outcome. My horse handled everything beautifully in there. It was one of the quietest, most sophisticated tests. He felt happy and relaxed in there,” she said.
West Palm Beach, Fla., March 10
For the third year in a row Steffen Peters finished first in the Grand Prix test at the Florida edition of the World Dressage Masters with Akiko Yamazaki’s Ravel.
Finishing on an astonishing 80.87 percent, his highest CDI score to-date, Peters was understandably delighted.
“It was just an amazing ride. I think from now on it will be the ride I compare other rides to,” he said. “Everything felt really easy. He was so supple, perfectly in front of me. I was able to ride the piaffe a little bit more in place.”

Wellington, FL (February 8, 2011) - The World Dressage Masters Palm Beach presented by International Polo Club Palm Beach is set to take place at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center on March 9 - 11, 2011. The World Dressage Masters presented by Axel Johnson Group is the world's richest dressage series, with 100,000 Euros in prize money offered at the Palm Beach event alone.
After some hurried negotiations, the Florida edition of the Exquis World Dressage Masters will take place after all. The event will run at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center in West Palm Beach and is scheduled for March 9-13.
Equestrian Sport Productions has canceled the Palm Beach Exquis World Dressage Masters CDI*****, according to Dressage-News.com.
The $130,000 invitational competition in Wellington, Fla., was slated for Feb. 3-5, but top European riders failed to commit to traveling to the event, and concerns then arose that spectators would lose interest.
