The German National Olympic Committee announced on Tuesday, June 8, that it would not block the nomination of Ulla Salzgeber and Rusty to the German Olympic dressage team, if they qualify in the selection trials. The German selectors—and the country's thousands of dressage fans—had been anxiously awaiting the decision, delivered just three days before the German selection trials begin.

          Farbenfroh, the defending World Champion and member of Germany's 2000 gold-medal Olympic team, will not be on their team this year.
In an effort to address some horse care concerns for equitation horses that arose last year, the U.S. Equestrian Federation has instituted a new policy for stabling at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, where the USEF Medal Finals are held each October.
This year, all equitation horses will have to be at the Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg by noon on Saturday, Oct. 16.
          A young driver's camp is scheduled for Aug. 5-8 in Southern Pines, N.C., at Claire Reid's Big Sky Farm. The camp is open to whips ages 12 to 21, both experienced and new to the sport.  This is the first project undertaken by the American Driving Society's ADS Fund.
          "Everything will be provided," said organizers Reid and Kelly Valdes.
