The mystery of what's happening to the Eurocommerce horses, including the individual silver medalist from the 2012 Olympic Games, Eurocommerce London, still isn't solved. Gerco Schröder has not competed his horses since he was in Rio de Janeiro in the beginning of October as Rabobank has refused to release the horses’ passports. News has been that Stal Eurocommerce was planning on taking Rabobank to court to release the passports, but it now seems like Stal Eurocommerce and Rabobank are trying to find a solution together.
In Europe, a big topic of conversation is the draft rules drawn up for the FEI Nations Cup, which have raised concerns among the riders as well as the different federations.
The horse-shopping frenzy continues in Europe, and lots of top show jumpers have changed hands during August. In addition, one fantastic horse has a new rider, ending an unforgettable partnership.
The German team started the year strong and should be the team to watch at the London Olympic Games. They currently lead the Top League after yet another strong win in the Nations Cup series in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on June 8 after they won at Rome in May.
In Europe, May has been the real kick-off of the outdoor season with two legs of the Top League and three Global Champions Tour shows. Germany and Belgium have so far been strong in the Top League while Ireland and France have struggled a bit. But as we all know, things can change fast in this sport.
