Germany’s Bettina Hoy has swept into a commanding lead after the first day of dressage at the Land Rover Burghley CCI****.

There’s a U.S. rider well in the hunt, though, as Elisa Wallace rode Simply Priceless to a personal best score of 46.8 and into fourth. The other U.S. rider in the ring today, Bunnie Sexton on Rise Against, went into 29th with a 61.0 score.

At the end of the first horse inspection 72 horse and rider combinations from 10 nations make up the start list for the Land Rover Burghley CCI****.

If you missed any of the Land Rover Burghley CCI**** (England) action over the weekend, have no fear. Burghley TV has posted individual videos of each of the rides in each phase.

A huge crowd rose to their feet in appreciation as Germany's Michael Jung and his wonderful horse La Biosthetique Sam jumped the perfect clear round to win the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.

Jung, who will be defending his European title next weekend, is the first German rider to win a British CCI****, and he received a great reception from the crowd, who recognised a phenomenal horseman in action and had been surrounding him all weekend asking for “selfies” and autographs.
