    Agree with most that it probably was a raccoon. That said, don't think that a fox would be that bold. They certainly would. They not only dig holes....

    If your current blankets aren't waterproof, you can spray them with a product called Camp Dry. I found it at Dick's Sporting Goods store near the boots/shoes....
