Well, I will pee in my horse's stall if necessary but I will clean it up. But if I see the dogs or cat snuffing in there I yell at them. They can go in someone else's stall!

Forum rules and no-advertising policy
As a participant on this forum, it is your responsibility to know and follow our rules. Please read this message in its entirety.
Board Rules
1. You’re responsible for what you say.
As outlined in Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, The Chronicle of the Horse and its affiliates, as well Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd., the developers of vBulletin, are not legally responsible for statements made in the forums.
This is a public forum viewed by a wide spectrum of people, so please be mindful of what you say and who might be reading it—details of personal disputes are likely better handled privately. While posters are legally responsible for their statements, the moderators may in their discretion remove or edit posts that violate these rules. Users have the ability to modify or delete their own messages after posting, but administrators generally will not delete posts, threads or accounts upon request.
Outright inflammatory, vulgar, harassing, malicious or otherwise inappropriate statements and criminal charges unsubstantiated by a reputable news source or legal documentation will not be tolerated and will be dealt with at the discretion of the moderators.
Credible threats of suicide will be reported to the police along with identifying user information at our disposal, in addition to referring the user to suicide helpline resources such as 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK.
2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.
The forums are a wonderful source of information and support for members of the horse community. While it’s understandably tempting to share information or search for input on other topics upon which members might have a similar level of knowledge, members must maintain the focus on horses.
3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.
4. No advertising in the discussion forums.
Posts in the discussion forums directly or indirectly advertising horses, jobs, items or services for sale or wanted will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Use of the private messaging feature or email addresses obtained through users’ profiles for unsolicited advertising is not permitted.
Company representatives may participate in discussions and answer questions about their products or services, or suggest their products on recent threads if they fulfill the criteria of a query. False "testimonials" provided by company affiliates posing as general consumers are not appropriate, and self-promotion of sales, ad campaigns, etc. through the discussion forums is not allowed.
Paid advertising is available on our classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.
Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:
Horses – Only general discussion about the buying, leasing, selling and pricing of horses is permitted. If the post contains, or links to, the type of specific information typically found in a sales or wanted ad, and it’s related to a horse for sale, regardless of who’s selling it, it doesn’t belong in the discussion forums.
Stallions – Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.
Services – Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.
Products – While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.
Event Announcements – Members may post one notification of an upcoming event that may be of interest to fellow members, if the original poster does not benefit financially from the event. Such threads may not be “bumped” excessively. Premium members may post their own notices in the Event Announcements forum.
Charities/Rescues – Announcements for charitable or fundraising events can only be made for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Special exceptions may be made, at the moderators’ discretion and direction, for board-related events or fundraising activities in extraordinary circumstances.
Occasional posts regarding horses available for adoption through IRS-registered horse rescue or placement programs are permitted in the appropriate forums, but these threads may be limited at the discretion of the moderators. Individuals may not advertise or make announcements for horses in need of rescue, placement or adoption unless the horse is available through a recognized rescue or placement agency or government-run entity or the thread fits the criteria for and is located in the Giveaways forum.
5. Do not post copyrighted photographs unless you have purchased that photo and have permission to do so.
6. Respect other members.
As members are often passionate about their beliefs and intentions can easily be misinterpreted in this type of environment, try to explore or resolve the inevitable disagreements that arise in the course of threads calmly and rationally.
If you see a post that you feel violates the rules of the board, please click the “alert” button (exclamation point inside of a triangle) in the bottom left corner of the post, which will alert ONLY the moderators to the post in question. They will then take whatever action, or no action, as deemed appropriate for the situation at their discretion. Do not air grievances regarding other posters or the moderators in the discussion forums.
Please be advised that adding another user to your “Ignore” list via your User Control Panel can be a useful tactic, which blocks posts and private messages by members whose commentary you’d rather avoid reading.
7. We have the right to reproduce statements made in the forums.
The Chronicle of the Horse may copy, quote, link to or otherwise reproduce posts, or portions of posts, in print or online for advertising or editorial purposes, if attributed to their original authors, and by posting in this forum, you hereby grant to The Chronicle of the Horse a perpetual, non-exclusive license under copyright and other rights, to do so.
8. We reserve the right to enforce and amend the rules.
The moderators may delete, edit, move or close any post or thread at any time, or refrain from doing any of the foregoing, in their discretion, and may suspend or revoke a user’s membership privileges at any time to maintain adherence to the rules and the general spirit of the forum. These rules may be amended at any time to address the current needs of the board.

I promise that if we do ever by this place I will do that to the outtie!
But not now, not only do I just rent the joint, there's all manner of biting insects in that thing right now. Nuh-uh, no way Im going in there.
Yuppers, class rarely has anything to do with money. Tho, I've met a few local yokles out here that would make your teeth curl. Bless thier hearts, they don't know any better.
If I can find it, I will. It was at my sisters house, and we just moved her to NC, so it may be a while before I can find it. It was so cute--they had converted an outbuilding to a hideout and for some reason could not get a bathroom out there and did that instead. i was floored!!! Beats the daylights out of the ones I remember having to use.You were scared of what would bite you on the 'taint. YOUCHHHH

NASTY barn visitor...now morphed into a discussion of class, and lack thereof
We're in the same boat. It seems there are a lot of women on this board who feel they are not only Equine experts, but experts on rating your level of Class...and lack thereof. (:
Pretty funny for them to say I/we have no class, usually when chewing you out for being "judgemental" about something...but isn't telling someone they have no Class being judgemental as well?
Hmmmmm....
There seems to be one set of rules for a select few on this board, and an entirely different set of rules for the rest of us..i.e. the ones without "Class"
What is "Class" anyway? And why is it soooo important for us to have lots of it? My biggest goal in here on this earth is to someday make it into Heaven. Do you think God will be more impressed by my devotion and protection of the innocents in life that have no voice to speak, or if I used the Queens English and proof read all the statements I've ever written or typed.
Boy, when you break them down like that, they seem even smaller and more shallow than I've ever thought possible.
So you go ahead and enjoy your illusion of "class" with your pinky in the air....I've got horses to rescue.I've got the 3 things men want. I'm hot, and I'm smart!

Uh, well, class has nothing to do with your pinky or how well you type, aly.
Class is behaving well in public. Class is not trying to out do your sister, in public. Class is volunteering to do the less nice jobs, not stealing hay.
Class is saying please and thankyou, and meaning it.
Class is offering help to a complete stranger, just because they "look" lost.
Class is being just as happy with a clean (but not spectacular) round as a blue ribbon.
Class is letting a friend know that there's something stuck to her butt, without letting the whole world know too.
Your post, my dear, does lack a bit in the class department. But you already know that.

*puts on "Mom" hat*Originally posted by alyshebaWhat is "Class" anyway?
IMHO, "class" has to do with manners more than anything, except maybe not "lowering" yourself to some ill mannered antagonist's level. Nothing to do with your proper use of language (unless you have a potty-mouth), your written grammar, or where you hold your pinkie finger. It is being considerate of those around you, thinking of something other than "me me me", being kind to those less fortunate (horses even), knowing when to bite your tongue to keep from saying something hurtful, and understanding the art of the white lie.
This is not neccessarily taught in today's families.

SBT..
I have not even been on this thread.. but that is so cool.. Not a matter of money but a matter of how they are raised! Awesome!Originally posted by SBTAgree w/ESG. I've also met my share of both types. Bottom line is that a person is a person, and I've met as many "poor" nasty people as I have "rich" nasty people. Money, or lack thereof, doesn't fortell class.
Currently boarded at my barn is an old, laminitic show pony owned by a VERY wealthy family in NYC. Last week, they came for a visit. They arrived in an Escalade with a driver, but the little girl bounced out of the car in ratty sneakers and "ordinary" clothes.
After fussing over the pony, I asked if she wanted to ride one of the school horses. Her face lit up: "REALLY?" Then she looked sad: "But I don't have my riding stuff." I told her she could borrow my helmet and half chaps. She lit up again!
This adorable kid had A BLAST on the not-fancy lesson horse, and her grandfather and driver (who spent the time picking grass for the horses
) had to practically drag her off the non-fancy farm when she was done.
I told her she should come visit her pony and ride with us more often, because we have trails she just has to see. "WOW, REALLY?"
The sweetest thing was when she was done riding, she took off my helmet and half chaps, neatly folded the half chaps, and held them out to me with a big "Thank You!" and "I LOVE your helmet, it's so cool!" (ATH)
PURE CLASS.
If this kid (and driver) ever go missing from Manhattan, it'll be because I kidnapped them to come trail ride in the boonies with me.

and to me anyway....
when it comes to doing charity work (which horse rescue is) "class" is doing what you can (we all have different levels of "can" due too financial, family, and physical limits), expecting nothing back, not expecting recognition, and CERTAINLY not bragging about it,
but just doing it because it RIGHT.Little Wishes Pony Parties

Okay, JillTX, Reynard Ridge and others who will succomb to the wishes of their bladder whether or not TP is handy, I am right with y'all! Is there a "Not Afraid To Go When You Gotta Go No Matter What" clique?Originally posted by jilltx*SNORT*

Glad to know that I am in good company. When ya gota go...ya GOTTA go!!
I was at a friend's barn once right after the main structure had been built and the horses had moved in, but the bathroom wasn't done yet. I had to go and she told me to pick a stall and then went out to bring her stallion in. I "did my thing" and met her back in the aisle as she was leading the handsome guy towards his stall. I gasped when she turned him right into the stall I'd just "used". As she closed the stall door I confessed and the poor confused stallion was sniffing the bedding, curling his lip, posturing... We had a great laugh and she's called me his "crush" ever since."Absent a correct diagnosis, medicine is poison, surgery is trauma and alternative therapy is witchcraft" A. Kent Allen

What I find entertaining is that it's allright for "me" to use "my" stall, but I become incensed at the thought of a man using it!!!

When I had the girls at home I would clean stalls and my cats would follow me...and use them accordingly
, but only after I had cleaned them.
It drove me NUTS!!!!!!!
Well I think we've managed to successfully de-rail this thread. I need to be the founding member of the "de-rail" clique.=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*
