Forum rules and no-advertising policy

As a participant on this forum, it is your responsibility to know and follow our rules. Please read this message in its entirety.

Board Rules

1. You’re responsible for what you say.
As outlined in Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, The Chronicle of the Horse and its affiliates, as well Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd., the developers of vBulletin, are not legally responsible for statements made in the forums.

This is a public forum viewed by a wide spectrum of people, so please be mindful of what you say and who might be reading it—details of personal disputes are likely better handled privately. While posters are legally responsible for their statements, the moderators may in their discretion remove or edit posts that violate these rules. Users have the ability to modify or delete their own messages after posting, but administrators generally will not delete posts, threads or accounts upon request.

Outright inflammatory, vulgar, harassing, malicious or otherwise inappropriate statements and criminal charges unsubstantiated by a reputable news source or legal documentation will not be tolerated and will be dealt with at the discretion of the moderators.

Credible threats of suicide will be reported to the police along with identifying user information at our disposal, in addition to referring the user to suicide helpline resources such as 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK.

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.
The forums are a wonderful source of information and support for members of the horse community. While it’s understandably tempting to share information or search for input on other topics upon which members might have a similar level of knowledge, members must maintain the focus on horses.

3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

4. No advertising in the discussion forums.
Posts in the discussion forums directly or indirectly advertising horses, jobs, items or services for sale or wanted will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Use of the private messaging feature or email addresses obtained through users’ profiles for unsolicited advertising is not permitted.

Company representatives may participate in discussions and answer questions about their products or services, or suggest their products on recent threads if they fulfill the criteria of a query. False "testimonials" provided by company affiliates posing as general consumers are not appropriate, and self-promotion of sales, ad campaigns, etc. through the discussion forums is not allowed.

Paid advertising is available on our classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.

Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:

Horses – Only general discussion about the buying, leasing, selling and pricing of horses is permitted. If the post contains, or links to, the type of specific information typically found in a sales or wanted ad, and it’s related to a horse for sale, regardless of who’s selling it, it doesn’t belong in the discussion forums.

Stallions – Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.

Services – Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.

Products – While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.

Event Announcements – Members may post one notification of an upcoming event that may be of interest to fellow members, if the original poster does not benefit financially from the event. Such threads may not be “bumped” excessively. Premium members may post their own notices in the Event Announcements forum.

Charities/Rescues – Announcements for charitable or fundraising events can only be made for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Special exceptions may be made, at the moderators’ discretion and direction, for board-related events or fundraising activities in extraordinary circumstances.

Occasional posts regarding horses available for adoption through IRS-registered horse rescue or placement programs are permitted in the appropriate forums, but these threads may be limited at the discretion of the moderators. Individuals may not advertise or make announcements for horses in need of rescue, placement or adoption unless the horse is available through a recognized rescue or placement agency or government-run entity or the thread fits the criteria for and is located in the Giveaways forum.

5. Do not post copyrighted photographs unless you have purchased that photo and have permission to do so.

6. Respect other members.
As members are often passionate about their beliefs and intentions can easily be misinterpreted in this type of environment, try to explore or resolve the inevitable disagreements that arise in the course of threads calmly and rationally.

If you see a post that you feel violates the rules of the board, please click the “alert” button (exclamation point inside of a triangle) in the bottom left corner of the post, which will alert ONLY the moderators to the post in question. They will then take whatever action, or no action, as deemed appropriate for the situation at their discretion. Do not air grievances regarding other posters or the moderators in the discussion forums.

Please be advised that adding another user to your “Ignore” list via your User Control Panel can be a useful tactic, which blocks posts and private messages by members whose commentary you’d rather avoid reading.

7. We have the right to reproduce statements made in the forums.
The Chronicle of the Horse may copy, quote, link to or otherwise reproduce posts, or portions of posts, in print or online for advertising or editorial purposes, if attributed to their original authors, and by posting in this forum, you hereby grant to The Chronicle of the Horse a perpetual, non-exclusive license under copyright and other rights, to do so.

8. We reserve the right to enforce and amend the rules.
The moderators may delete, edit, move or close any post or thread at any time, or refrain from doing any of the foregoing, in their discretion, and may suspend or revoke a user’s membership privileges at any time to maintain adherence to the rules and the general spirit of the forum. These rules may be amended at any time to address the current needs of the board.

Please see our full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more information.

Answer these as you see fit, but please no novels, keep it brief if possible:
      --> OK

-Helmet when you ride --> at clinics, shows, and while jumping. not if hacking or dressage-ing

-Helmet for horse handling/grooming/turnout --> No, but i have friends who do.

-Allow others under your supervision to ride or handle w/out a helmet -->If on *my* horse, NO. If on their horse.... adults have the choice....under 18, Every time Every Ride.

-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to handle horses --> rarely... if we're working with a ruff loader... definantely

-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to ride --> sometimes, usually at shows and clinics

-Wear a safety vest? If yes, when? No, but i would.... maybe, they don't look easy to ride in.

-Ride bareback--> yes the most essential equestrian need!

-Ride w/ minimal equipment, (i.e. halter and rope/ just a rope or twine)--> have and would again.

-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump --> Would LUV TO!!! (Nancy! )

-Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming)--> Not barefoot, but i've been stepped on with just flip-flops (and still not learned a lesson lol )

-Lead 2 or more horses at once --> yes, but won't again... it's a situation where you wish you were wearing your helmet and not the flip-flops (*just kidding* not that bad )

-Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck--> just one, yes

-Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock --> yes

-Ride double --> of course (and triple when very little..... in shorts, barefoot!!)

-Ride double with a small child -->no

-Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc)--> Those aren't tricks and yes!

-Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot (“unapproved” footwear) --> back in the day i rode in nothing but!

-Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear --> Not even if they're 18+ years old.

-Ride along a paved road --> yes (and horse is traffic shy)

-Ride along a busy, high traffic road --> Avoid that at all costs.

-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks --> can count on one hand in the eleven years.

-Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing: --> When feeding oats/supps, i put his bucket down, and tell him to "wait", then walk around him while he waits to eat.... then he can have his dinner. We had an incident where he tried to kick at me during dinner time. So now he has to wait, and respect me, before he gets dinner like a big dog people say lol

I'm on the safe-ish side, and at 24, still want to be able to make my own decision

I'm going back to read them all

-Helmet when you ride Always. Hey, I like my head.
-Helmet for horse handling/grooming/turnout Depends on the horse- yes with the young ones.
-Allow others under your supervision to ride or handle w/out a helmet Depends on the person and horse. Most of the time, yes.
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to handle horses Always. Love my gloves! I had really bad ropeburn once- never again!
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to ride. Most of the time. I have fairly small hands, so the extra grip is nice.
-Wear a safety vest? If yes, when? Yes, when doing any jumping, riding the babies, or schooling some of the more difficult horses. My spine is pretty fragile, and I like to look after it.
-Ride bareback On my horses, yes.
-Ride w/ minimal equipment, (i.e. halter and rope/ just a rope or twine) Yup- turning out is so much quicker like that!
-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump Can't answer really- no where around her to swim.
-Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming) Nope, never. It's a stupid risk to take.
-Lead 2 or more horses at once. Yep, as long as I know them.
-Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck Sometimes I will.
-Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock Nope, not with the horses i have now. I used to with my pony.
-Ride double I have a few times. Not now though.
-Ride double with a small child Nope, never
-Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc) Not now, but I used to.
-Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot (“unapproved” footwear) Nope, love my boots.
-Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear. Nope, proper footwear is something I insist on.
-Ride along a paved road. Yes, I have to, to reach some of the hacking.
-Ride along a busy, high traffic road I try not to, so not unless there's no other choice.
-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks Kissing is okay- but I haven't taught them any other tricks.
-Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing: Lunge line to turn out difficult horses, carrying a whip when fetching in (to prevent crowding at the gate). Caused a few looks by picking out Q's feet from the same side (reaching under his belly), and by sitting on one very tall horse to french plait his mane.

          -Helmet when you ride Always
-Helmet for horse handling/grooming/turnout Sometimes; also sometimes for longeing with certain horses.
-Allow others under your supervision to ride or handle w/out a helmet Ride - no; handle - yes, unless reason for helmet
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to handle horses almost always - I'm sure there are times I forget. Generally, gloves go on the minute I get to the barn.
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to ride Always - forgot once last summer and lived to regret it (OWWWW blisters!!)
-Wear a safety vest? If yes, when? x-country only
-Ride bareback Yes, though rarely (but not b/c I think it's unsafe)
-Ride w/ minimal equipment, (i.e. halter and rope/ just a rope or twine) Sometimes ride in halter / leadrope
-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump Never done it... would swim, but probably not dive off his hiney
-Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming) No. I love being barefoot, but not outdoors or in the barn
-Lead 2 or more horses at once Yes, but of course it depends on the horses. My two are great together, so leading them both at the same time is no problem
-Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck Yes, rarely, and only on the property (the entire property is fenced in)
-Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock No
          -Ride double Never
-Ride double with a small child Depends on the horse
-Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc) Never
-Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot(“unapproved” footwear) No, but maybe have ridden in sneakers once or twice
-Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear No
-Ride along a paved road depends - I ride over a paved road with no traffic in the park where I ride at a walk (to get to the other trails). Paved road that had regular traffic going over a few miles per hour? No.
-Ride along a busy, high traffic road No. I have to walk 3 blocks to the park with my horses and I always lead them.
-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks Depends
-Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing:
I insist that all my horses have superb ground manners.

-Helmet when you ride - ALWAYS, unless I'm in the saddle seat show ring or at a carriage pleasure show, where they are not comme il faut.
-Helmet for horse handling/grooming/turnout - Depends on character of horse and what I'm doing. Teaching the 18h dumbblood to longline? Heck yeah. Longlining Avery? Probably not.
-Allow others under your supervision to ride or handle w/out a helmet - Ride or drive, no. Handle, yes, depending on horse, and handler's experience level.
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to handle horses - Sometimes. Again it depends on the character of the horse and of the activity. I would never longline without gloves, but I might longe, depending on the horse.
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to ride - Rarely. Only if it's cold or I'm in the show ring or practicing for it.
-Wear a safety vest? If yes, when? Haven't started wearing one yet but I'm seriously thinking about it. If I get one, it'll be an "every ride and drive, every time" kind of thing, except when showing.
-Ride bareback Not me, not anymore.
-Ride w/ minimal equipment, (i.e. halter and rope/ just a rope or twine) No, a bitless bridle is as close as I get, but I use it w/ full tack and a helmet.
-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump - Swim with, yes; dive off, no.
-Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming) - Around Avery??!! Mr. Twinkletoes?? I think NOT!
-Lead 2 or more horses at once - Two is my limit and I've never been comfortable doing it, to be honest.
-Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck Only in an emergency.
-Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock Only in an emergency, and I'd still rather take my belt off and use that.
-Ride double - Nope, too old.
-Ride double with a small child - Nope, would never do it.
-Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc) - Nope, too old for that, too!
-Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot (“unapproved” footwear) - Guilty as charged, officer, but NOT barefoot.
-Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear - Probably yes, but NOT barefoot.
-Ride along a paved road - Yes, all the time
-Ride along a busy, high traffic road- Well, I drive my horse on one all the time, yes. I have no choice really.
-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks - Guilty as charged, but with Avery the rule is no human face within horsey headbutting distance, or you'll lose a few teeth!
-Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing: I always suggest to anyone who's going to be driving Avery on the busy main road that he or she wear a REALLY bright colored shirt. I figure anything that isn't leaf-green might catch a soccer mom's eye. I would hope.

-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks - he's not allowed to eat my food

-Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing: - I notice that I am a lot more careful, cautious about walking up behind horses, leading horses around and past other horses etc. I have seen lots of kicking in the past. I don't see it much now days and most people seem to be oblivious. That bothers me a little. It only takes one kick.

-Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing: I'm a nerd about picking feet and brushing tails, etc. as far as where the human stands to do it, and I also ALWAYS take a crop in the field with me to bring horses in or to turn out. Sometimes they forget you aren't there to play...

-Helmet when you ride always, always, always
                    -Helmet for horse handling/grooming/turnout no
-Allow others under your supervision to ride or handle w/out a helmet never been an issue, but I wouldn't
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to handle horses no, unless it's winter!
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to ride sometimes
-Wear a safety vest? If yes, when? when jumping if I feel like there's a chance of coming off/ if I want the extra security
                    -Ride bareback yes
-Ride w/ minimal equipment, (i.e. halter and rope/ just a rope or twine) never done it, wouldn't have a problem doing it on a sane horse
-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump have swum, wouldn't dive off rump
-Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming) really not a bright thing to do...
-Lead 2 or more horses at once often, not a problem if they get along
-Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck have done it when halters got lost outside
-Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock nope
                    -Ride double no
-Ride double with a small child never done it, but might with a horse I trusted
-Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc) no
-Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot (“unapproved” footwear) have ridden in sneakers
-Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear never come up, probrobly wouldn't allow in a sadle, bareback ok
-Ride along a paved road yes
-Ride along a busy, high traffic road nope!
-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks taking treats from my mouth would most likely create a monster!

I've read through the posts, and it's ironic that people who are advocating helmets "always...." when they ride, yet never use them while handling the horse.....

What's the point of preaching helmets every time you ride, if you don't use them in all aspects of horsemanship?

                          -Helmet for horse handling/grooming/turnout: never
-Allow others under your supervision to ride or handle w/out a helmet: ride, no; handle, yes
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to handle horses: almost always, to save my hands from blisters
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to ride: almost always (I put them on as soon as I get to the barn and wear them until I leave
-Wear a safety vest? If yes, when?: never - those are for eventers!
-Ride bareback: sometimes - usually just to graze
-Ride w/ minimal equipment, (i.e. halter and rope/ just a rope or twine): sometimes, just to graze
-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump: would swim with my horse - would not dive off her rump
-Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming): NEVER
-Lead 2 or more horses at once: never
-Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck: yes, but rarely
-Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock: yes, but rarely
-Ride double: have done it - would not do it with my horse
-Ride double with a small child: not a small child
-Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc): sometimes (around the world)
-Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot (“unapproved” footwear): never
-Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear: no
-Ride along a paved road: yes, lots

-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks: have done, but not often
-Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing:

                          Ready? GO![/QUOTE]

How about ride in shorts (unapproved legwear)? I've done that in the hot summertime. And have ended up with rubs.

                          Or Ride a green horse?

                          Or Ride an OTTB?

                          Or Jump alone?

                          Or trailride alone?

So, yes there are always risks and we choose the ones we are willing to deal with. Good point and well taken.

-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump never had the pleasure of swimming with my horse, but have cantered through knee high (for the horse) water and of course do dive off his rump occasionally

-Ride along a busy, high traffic road I have, but I would not on my own horses - they are too spooky...or perhaps I am too spooky
-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks yep I didn't teach him to kiss, he just learned.

haven't yet, but would if I thought the horse would stop.
-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump
nope. I do lie back over my saddle, though.
-Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming)
                                  NEVER! OUCH!
-Lead 2 or more horses at once
                                  If they get along
-Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck
Good leaders only. and only one at a time.
-Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock
only my mare, and only rarely.
                                  -Ride double
                                  no
-Ride double with a small child
                                  how small? I would.
-Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc)
never (only because it doesn't really amuse me)
-Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot (“unapproved” footwear)
never, but if it were an emergency sort of situation, i would.
-Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear
no. except in same situation as above.
                                  -Ride along a paved road
                                  I try to avoid it.
-Ride along a busy, high traffic road
                                  no.
-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks
                                  no. I hate pushy horses.

                                    -Helmet when you ride-
                                    Always
                                    -Helmet for horse handling/grooming/turnout-
No... just if I've just gotten off my horse.
-Allow others under your supervision to ride or handle w/out a helmet-
Not usually- just my BO's three year old is allowed to sit on her pony (with someone holding her of course!)- but if she is going to get a pony ride she wears a helmet
-Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to handle horses-
                                    Never, unless it's cold
                                    -Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to ride-
                                    Never, unless it's cold.
-Wear a safety vest? If yes, when?-
                                    Nope, haven't yet
                                    -Ride bareback-
Once, but would like this summer.
-Ride w/ minimal equipment, (i.e. halter and rope/ just a rope or twine)-
Nope, but again, I would like to ride halter/lead rope this summer.
-Swim with your horse, dive off his rump-
                                    Never
-Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming)-
                                    NEVER!
-Lead 2 or more horses at once-
Yes, I'll lead 2 horses sometimes depending on the horse
-Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck-
Yes, usually when I'm turning in or out I'll just put a leadrope around the neck or just use a halter w/o lead rope.
-Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock-
Um... I do that with my horse Milo- he's so calm that he'll follow me anyways so I just hold his mane.
                                    -Ride double-
                                    Never have
-Ride double with a small child-
Never have but will if needed.
-Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc)-
                                    not yet
-Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot (“unapproved” footwear)
                                    Never
-Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear-
                                    Never
                                    -Ride along a paved road-
I haven't ridden on a paved road but we have ridden on the side of one on the grass.
-Ride along a busy, high traffic road-
                                    Never
-Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks-
Yes, my horse knows how to shake his head if I wiggle my finger, and I"m going to be teaching him to sit and bow (mainly to streatch the muscles he has problems with but give him something fun to do )
-Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing:
We carry Aussie stock whips around with us that are about 8 ft long b/c I've been kicked in the face and now many people think we are uptight about safety.
"People ask me 'will I remember them if I make it'. I ask them 'will you remember me if I don't?'"

                                      Helmet when you ride: ALWAYS
Helmet for horse handling/grooming/turnout. No before the ride, yes after
Allow others under your supervision to ride or handle w/out a helmet: Once, but the rider was "expert" (she got bucked off anyway, LOL)
Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to handle horses. Just in winter.
Always/sometimes/rarely/never wear gloves to ride. Almost never.
Wear a safety vest? Don't own one.
Ride bareback. Did with old horse, still haven't tried with the new guy
Ride w/ minimal equipment, (i.e. halter and rope/ just a rope or twine). Same as previous answer.
Swim with your horse, dive off his rump. What are you, crazy?
Go barefoot around your horse/horses (doing chores, riding, grooming). See previous answer.
Lead 2 or more horses at once. No, but my BO does and she thinks I'm a wimp for just leading one at a time.
Lead one or more with just a rope around the neck. Not if I can help it.
Lead by just grabbing the mane or forelock. Emergency only.
                                      Ride double. No
Ride double with a small child. No
Do tricks (standing, sitting backwards etc). My big trick is staying on.
Ride in a saddle w/ stirrups and in sneakers, clogs, barefoot (“unapproved” footwear) No way.
Allow others under your supervision to ride in “unapproved” footwear. Only if I'm personally leading horsie as in giving pony rides.
Ride along a paved road. I never leave the arena
Ride along a busy, high traffic road. Don't even like driving on such roads.
Teach or allow your horse to ‘kiss’ you/take treats from your mouth/other ground tricks. My horse's tricks don't involve the use of teeth on face.
Anything else you insist on for YOUR safety (Horse safety is another big can o’ worms! ) or have had people look at you for doing: Double/triple/quadruple-check the stalls to make sure they're latched before I leave.
