Forum rules and no-advertising policy

As a participant on this forum, it is your responsibility to know and follow our rules. Please read this message in its entirety.

Board Rules

1. You’re responsible for what you say.
As outlined in Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, The Chronicle of the Horse and its affiliates, as well Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd., the developers of vBulletin, are not legally responsible for statements made in the forums.

This is a public forum viewed by a wide spectrum of people, so please be mindful of what you say and who might be reading it—details of personal disputes are likely better handled privately. While posters are legally responsible for their statements, the moderators may in their discretion remove or edit posts that violate these rules. Users have the ability to modify or delete their own messages after posting, but administrators generally will not delete posts, threads or accounts upon request.

Outright inflammatory, vulgar, harassing, malicious or otherwise inappropriate statements and criminal charges unsubstantiated by a reputable news source or legal documentation will not be tolerated and will be dealt with at the discretion of the moderators.

Credible threats of suicide will be reported to the police along with identifying user information at our disposal, in addition to referring the user to suicide helpline resources such as 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK.

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.
The forums are a wonderful source of information and support for members of the horse community. While it’s understandably tempting to share information or search for input on other topics upon which members might have a similar level of knowledge, members must maintain the focus on horses.

3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

4. No advertising in the discussion forums.
Posts in the discussion forums directly or indirectly advertising horses, jobs, items or services for sale or wanted will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Use of the private messaging feature or email addresses obtained through users’ profiles for unsolicited advertising is not permitted.

Company representatives may participate in discussions and answer questions about their products or services, or suggest their products on recent threads if they fulfill the criteria of a query. False "testimonials" provided by company affiliates posing as general consumers are not appropriate, and self-promotion of sales, ad campaigns, etc. through the discussion forums is not allowed.

Paid advertising is available on our classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.

Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:

Horses – Only general discussion about the buying, leasing, selling and pricing of horses is permitted. If the post contains, or links to, the type of specific information typically found in a sales or wanted ad, and it’s related to a horse for sale, regardless of who’s selling it, it doesn’t belong in the discussion forums.

Stallions – Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.

Services – Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.

Products – While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.

Event Announcements – Members may post one notification of an upcoming event that may be of interest to fellow members, if the original poster does not benefit financially from the event. Such threads may not be “bumped” excessively. Premium members may post their own notices in the Event Announcements forum.

Charities/Rescues – Announcements for charitable or fundraising events can only be made for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Special exceptions may be made, at the moderators’ discretion and direction, for board-related events or fundraising activities in extraordinary circumstances.

Occasional posts regarding horses available for adoption through IRS-registered horse rescue or placement programs are permitted in the appropriate forums, but these threads may be limited at the discretion of the moderators. Individuals may not advertise or make announcements for horses in need of rescue, placement or adoption unless the horse is available through a recognized rescue or placement agency or government-run entity or the thread fits the criteria for and is located in the Giveaways forum.

5. Do not post copyrighted photographs unless you have purchased that photo and have permission to do so.

6. Respect other members.
As members are often passionate about their beliefs and intentions can easily be misinterpreted in this type of environment, try to explore or resolve the inevitable disagreements that arise in the course of threads calmly and rationally.

If you see a post that you feel violates the rules of the board, please click the “alert” button (exclamation point inside of a triangle) in the bottom left corner of the post, which will alert ONLY the moderators to the post in question. They will then take whatever action, or no action, as deemed appropriate for the situation at their discretion. Do not air grievances regarding other posters or the moderators in the discussion forums.

Please be advised that adding another user to your “Ignore” list via your User Control Panel can be a useful tactic, which blocks posts and private messages by members whose commentary you’d rather avoid reading.

7. We have the right to reproduce statements made in the forums.
The Chronicle of the Horse may copy, quote, link to or otherwise reproduce posts, or portions of posts, in print or online for advertising or editorial purposes, if attributed to their original authors, and by posting in this forum, you hereby grant to The Chronicle of the Horse a perpetual, non-exclusive license under copyright and other rights, to do so.

8. We reserve the right to enforce and amend the rules.
The moderators may delete, edit, move or close any post or thread at any time, or refrain from doing any of the foregoing, in their discretion, and may suspend or revoke a user’s membership privileges at any time to maintain adherence to the rules and the general spirit of the forum. These rules may be amended at any time to address the current needs of the board.

Please see our full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more information.

There was a boob joke I got on e-mail awhile back about what the cup letters stand for:

    A - almost boobs
    B - barely there
    C - can't complain
    D - damn!
    DD - double damn!
    E - enormous
    F - fake

How can you wear those tank tops and not feel "boobalicious". Do you wear a support strapless bra if there is such a thing? I too am your size and wouldn't change a thing but I often look in amazement at those who wear tank tops and wonder *how*.

        Ladies,

I am probably one of the larger chested woman on the board. Not that this is a brag or a feeling of superiority. NO this comes from being of fine Hearty Irish Peasant Stock. I was in the 40DD's as a teenager....

When I rode as a child they really never had any special type of bra's for "sports" so you had to make due. Yes I learned in lessons to kind of squeeze my inside elbows in and hold those bad girls in place all the while still allowing my arm to flow with the contact and not letting either my wrists or breast bounce. Took years of practice but I became damn good at it.

Fast forward to my late 20's. Now they have sports bra's to help control all the natural body jiggling. trainer ( God love him!) suggests I try wearing one or two. I being the dutiful student went and got two. Well I was 1/2 hour late to the lesson because I had a problem SQUEEEEZING into them. Well the lesson went ok (Mind you this is July). Little hard to breath in but I chalked it up to humidity. Finished the lesson, did chores and went to the house to change. I had planned to spend the night at the trainers and go to the show the next morning with them. Well lo and behold I COULD NOT get the bra's off! I had to call the TWO trainers to come wrestle them off of me. We were all laughing so hard it was almost impossible to get them off because they had conformed to my shape.... Needless to say I went back to my regular old Playtex 18 hour special the next day to show in but the stories that flew fast and furious about the disrobing were hysterical. Never again did I attempt a foray into the sports bra arena.

I met all three. Best thing I ever did, insurance covered it all and I only had to pay $20 in copayment.

Well, I meet all requirements plus I have lots of back and neck problems. I have been wanting this forever, but at the same time I'm scared $hitless. Before doing any surgery I have to take meds to help blood clotting since I bleed for five or six hours from a simple paper cut.

And BTW why is it so friggin difficult to find a pretty bra that fits and holds boobs when you actually have them? They all look like orthopedic shoes with big ole straps. Woman with boobs need bras, can't someone make them nice looking?

I was a 34 DD and I have always had to wear two bras to ride or play sports which I have done since highschool. So of course I've always had back and shoulder pain. However exactly a week ago today I had breast reduction surgery. The doctor removed a pound from one side and a little over a pound from the other. Looks like I'm going to be a large B or small C!! Can't wait to try and ride in 1 bra in 6-8wks. Hopefully no more indented shoulders. So far the pain hasn't been too bad. I'm a little sore and I can't move around as well as I like, but the whole ordeal hasn't been too bad and I am sooo glad that I had it done.

I am gonna need Depends reading this thread! I always envied the buxom crowd....not any more. Okay, well at least not while I'm riding.

Think there is a way I can be riding 24/7?

Try being well-sprung in the ribs (38) but little in the cup department. (A if I'm lucky ....and the wind is at my back) 38A or 38 AA THEY DON'T MAKE THAT SIZE!!!!! They assume if you are little there, you are little everywhere and only go up to 36A. (And by saying I'm an A, that means I fill the BOTTOM half of the A cup!) Being prego (5 times mind you) didn't leave me bigger....only deflated! Got a "ski-slope" going on here. If you guys don't play fair and share I'm gonna have to get some of those plastic parts!

Mr. A, Come on now...........you know after reading my post you've got to think I'm just the sexiest thing alive.....LOL!

around, it'll be money well spent.

OH!!! And if you've got teenagers growing up riding, please stick your nose all in their bidness and get them riding in sports bras from the start. I could sport a few less stretch marks if I'd trotted my way through high school with some support.

About a year ago I was was wearing a size 40 DDD. I rode in a 18/24 NO BOUNCE garauntee'd bra.. and it worked. But I did have the uni-boob effect, and i couldn't breathe.. but still..
Well, fast forward 10 months, I've lost 112 lbs and my boobs... or shall I say, my "tube socks with tennis balls in them" are now a size 36 DD. It's mostly skin, nothing in there anymore.. I'm riding in a Satin Tracing's Minimizer from Playtex, I buy it off the Hanes One website. It's fabulous. No bounce, it's comfortable.
Here is the sad part, in another year I am looking at plastic surgery, and in order to have NORMAL looking boobs, get this, I'm going to have to have a IMPLANT... ROFL.... I can hardly believe it... but the surgeon said that with all of this left over skin, it's really hard to shape what's left. He'll need something to shape it around... ha ha...

Ok, I took a look at the Title9 page. Not bad, but there's more variety and colors (especially in the extra-heavy-duty-hold-up categories) at My Sports Bra, a division of Road Runner Sports.

I have a few of the RRS 295s (or 195s -- I can't remember offhand) and they're really comfy and the girls don't move. A bonus is that if you browse the website long enough, you'll often get a popup offering free shipping.

good booie - I think maggymay has it right. I also have broad shoulders relative to my hips, so have never felt overly "boobalicious" - great word btw And no, I don't wear any form of support bra Plus, if you think the sitting trot is bad, try doing the Highland Fling

Seriously though, as I mentioned on the other thread, I used to do a lot swimming, usually breast stroke because I am awful at front crawl. That particular stroke is great for developing the underlying muscles and thus improving the base of support.

A caution about Title IX--I've bought a couple of theirs, and they are mega-tight! They seem to be designed for the women pictured in their ads, of which I ain't one, too much other padding. Yes, I bought my size, but, while the support was great, the straps were short. I've also never worn anything that mashed quite like those. I mean, I know they're supposed to, but good golly gee whillikers....don't you have to be able to breathe to be athletic??

                                        • Yes, insurance covered it. I paid nada.

It has only been 4 weeks and I am cleared for riding. It is so wonderful. It really didn't even hurt that much. I have had worse dentist appointments. The only downside was some severe marital squabbling, but that won't happen if you are married to a reasonable man.

I cannot believe how comfortable I am now in my body. I am only wearing a very lightweight sport type over-the-head type bra right now, but I will be getting a real bra soon. It's just fantastic. And my clothes fit SO much better too.
