The horses at my farm are on pasture 24/7, but get full care. I do not charge for blanketing, and blanket many (one 30 year old has been blanketed at night for the past month) most of the winter (I board retirees). I charge $475/month. I do charge a bit of a premium, but give more service than some other places.

Forum rules and no-advertising policy
As a participant on this forum, it is your responsibility to know and follow our rules. Please read this message in its entirety.
Board Rules
1. You’re responsible for what you say.
As outlined in Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, The Chronicle of the Horse and its affiliates, as well Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd., the developers of vBulletin, are not legally responsible for statements made in the forums.
This is a public forum viewed by a wide spectrum of people, so please be mindful of what you say and who might be reading it—details of personal disputes are likely better handled privately. While posters are legally responsible for their statements, the moderators may in their discretion remove or edit posts that violate these rules. Users have the ability to modify or delete their own messages after posting, but administrators generally will not delete posts, threads or accounts upon request.
Outright inflammatory, vulgar, harassing, malicious or otherwise inappropriate statements and criminal charges unsubstantiated by a reputable news source or legal documentation will not be tolerated and will be dealt with at the discretion of the moderators.
Credible threats of suicide will be reported to the police along with identifying user information at our disposal, in addition to referring the user to suicide helpline resources such as 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK.
2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.
The forums are a wonderful source of information and support for members of the horse community. While it’s understandably tempting to share information or search for input on other topics upon which members might have a similar level of knowledge, members must maintain the focus on horses.
3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.
4. No advertising in the discussion forums.
Posts in the discussion forums directly or indirectly advertising horses, jobs, items or services for sale or wanted will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Use of the private messaging feature or email addresses obtained through users’ profiles for unsolicited advertising is not permitted.
Company representatives may participate in discussions and answer questions about their products or services, or suggest their products on recent threads if they fulfill the criteria of a query. False "testimonials" provided by company affiliates posing as general consumers are not appropriate, and self-promotion of sales, ad campaigns, etc. through the discussion forums is not allowed.
Paid advertising is available on our classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.
Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:
Horses – Only general discussion about the buying, leasing, selling and pricing of horses is permitted. If the post contains, or links to, the type of specific information typically found in a sales or wanted ad, and it’s related to a horse for sale, regardless of who’s selling it, it doesn’t belong in the discussion forums.
Stallions – Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.
Services – Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.
Products – While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.
Event Announcements – Members may post one notification of an upcoming event that may be of interest to fellow members, if the original poster does not benefit financially from the event. Such threads may not be “bumped” excessively. Premium members may post their own notices in the Event Announcements forum.
Charities/Rescues – Announcements for charitable or fundraising events can only be made for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Special exceptions may be made, at the moderators’ discretion and direction, for board-related events or fundraising activities in extraordinary circumstances.
Occasional posts regarding horses available for adoption through IRS-registered horse rescue or placement programs are permitted in the appropriate forums, but these threads may be limited at the discretion of the moderators. Individuals may not advertise or make announcements for horses in need of rescue, placement or adoption unless the horse is available through a recognized rescue or placement agency or government-run entity or the thread fits the criteria for and is located in the Giveaways forum.
5. Do not post copyrighted photographs unless you have purchased that photo and have permission to do so.
6. Respect other members.
As members are often passionate about their beliefs and intentions can easily be misinterpreted in this type of environment, try to explore or resolve the inevitable disagreements that arise in the course of threads calmly and rationally.
If you see a post that you feel violates the rules of the board, please click the “alert” button (exclamation point inside of a triangle) in the bottom left corner of the post, which will alert ONLY the moderators to the post in question. They will then take whatever action, or no action, as deemed appropriate for the situation at their discretion. Do not air grievances regarding other posters or the moderators in the discussion forums.
Please be advised that adding another user to your “Ignore” list via your User Control Panel can be a useful tactic, which blocks posts and private messages by members whose commentary you’d rather avoid reading.
7. We have the right to reproduce statements made in the forums.
The Chronicle of the Horse may copy, quote, link to or otherwise reproduce posts, or portions of posts, in print or online for advertising or editorial purposes, if attributed to their original authors, and by posting in this forum, you hereby grant to The Chronicle of the Horse a perpetual, non-exclusive license under copyright and other rights, to do so.
8. We reserve the right to enforce and amend the rules.
The moderators may delete, edit, move or close any post or thread at any time, or refrain from doing any of the foregoing, in their discretion, and may suspend or revoke a user’s membership privileges at any time to maintain adherence to the rules and the general spirit of the forum. These rules may be amended at any time to address the current needs of the board.

I am in the midwest - we have cold winters and lots of snow. I pay $340 full stall board. The pasture horses aren't blanketed - my horses are year around, however in the winter all the BO has to do it throw an extra blanket on before turnout and take it off when they come in, in the summer if it is really hot she will take the blankets off when they come in. No charge. She will also bring my horses in early or turnout later if I want due to cold or hot weather. I love the place I board. We are all high maintenance boarders and she caters to all of us. Only 7 horses are boarders the rest are her clients with horses in training. She also doesnt charge for fans in the summer - or having horses under lights 16 hours a day.

340 for outdoor board in Southern Ontario - blanketing is included. One blanket off, one on type of thing. The BM will go the extra mile if I ask her.
I try to do all my own blanketing, whenever possible though. I'm a bit of blanket freak (not that I don't trust my BM to make the right call - I definitely do) but I have pretty exacting standards so it's easier if I just do it myself.Fit Dog Blog

I'm in North Texas. When the temp drops below is think 30-40 blanket no charge. If an owner has a special request for blankets at a warmer temp I do believe there's a small fee. But it's a small barn. I pay $200 a month for a stall with a run and daytime turnout. I provide oop feed and shavings and clean stall but that's it. Was super lucky to find this place. Pasture board can be anywhere from $75 - $950. Obviously cheaper being self care only. The 950 is at a nice place but yowza! Blanketing included in that price if I do recall. At least I would hope so..... X.x places can be expensiiiiiiiiveClancy 17hh chestnut Dutch WB, '99. Owned and loved since '04 and still goin'!

Where I board it's been $1 per degree for the temp you want your horse blanketed per month. So $20 if you want them blanketed below 20 degrees, $30 for less than 30 and $40 for less than 40. Those are the options. I use the less than 20 option.
This is on top of $350/ mo for a group of 3 in a paddock with shed at night and big pasture or dry lot during the day.

I pay $250 for paddock board in Northern Colorado. Blanketing is included. We can have wild weather swings so blanketing for this climate isn't an easy job. My guy is semi retired and not clipped. He turns into a yak this time of year and is only blanketed when it's cold and wet or if the wind chills dip well below zero.Fils Du Reverdy (Revy)- 1993 Selle Francais Gelding

About what I pay, Midwest winter temps 40f to -10f. Not a show barn, no indoor, no heated wash racks (but have hot water). Mostly lay ups, foaling mares and retirees. Good size paddocks most in 12 out 12. No blanket charge BUT no hourly or by temp changes, pick one and put it out for the day. Actually, has not been any kind if an issue at all- and they stay in if precip is in the forecast.Originally posted by GotGait View PostI pay $470 for full board, DC area, no blanket fee.
They also don't charge for worming (4 times a year) or holding for vet/farrier and prefer to schedule those for you in sync with the rest of them. When opportunity knocks it's wearing overalls and looks like work.

I board at a barn that has 4 boarders and 25 schoolies. We get the same care as the schoolies, which is stellar. Blanket changes are included in the rate of $690. There are changes for temperature during the fall and spring when temps can change dramatically. Staff has gone into the field during turnout when temps rise to remove layers. But during deep winter the horses just mainly live in their blankets unless ridden.

Full board, blanket changes included. I use the Amigo liner system and my barn owner will even change out the liners if a heavier or lighter one is needed. That said, it gets cold here, and my horse is old, so once Winter really sets in, she pretty much lives in her heavy blanket. If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.

I pay full care stall board in North Central KY. My BO/BM is similar to the one above. She's not going to drudge out into the field to change blankets. But will pull them off when they come in at night and put back on as needed in the morning. My guy isn't clipped. There is only one other boarder who also has only one horse. She doesn't clip either. So we don't blanket at night when they are in. The rest of the herd are owned by the BO/BM who doesn't blanket any of her horses unless it's really really cold. It's a small place... only 8 horses in total.Originally posted by EasternMkt View Post$275 for full care field board at a small, private facility in NoVA, reasonable blanket changes included. That means that the BO isn't going to trudge out to the field in the middle of the day to change blankets, but blankets can be swapped when the horses come in to eat.
LOVE IT!
My temps are: 50 or below and it's cool/rainy/overcast/windy = sheet. Upper 20's or below = mid weight (200g). Other boarder's horse is about the same though he doesn't have a sheet so naked until it gets cold.
Would love to do that but my guy shivers if it's cool with wind and rain, etc. So a sheet goes on. We do keep it pretty simple. Works well for us. And no, she doesn't charge anything. She also doesn't charge for boots on/off though my guy lives in pull ons but did have velcros for a little while. She also doesn't charge to pick their feet out every day when they come in. Fly sprays them in warm temps and puts masks on, etc. And so on and so forth... she doesn't nickel and dime her boarders. Yes, I love her.
I have boarded at many types of places....
* Didn't charge and same as above
* Didn't charge and would change them constantly (10* increment chart!)
* Wouldn't change them at all unless they saw a horse over heating
* Charged $5 a day regardless even if they didn't use a blanket/sheet that day
* Flat fee ($25-40)
Boarding prices ranged from $350 to $550 for full care stall board. And surprisingly, it wasn't the pricier places that didn't charge for the service.
The one that changed them constantly and didn't charge was the cheapest place.
