Blinky...to answer your question...THE BEST THING ABOUT KERRY IS...HES NOT BUSH!~ And I really do plan on moving out of the USA if Bush wins. I will be too afraid to live here with him as our leader once again. It will just prove that we live in a country full of morons, and I will be too ashamed to be considered an American.

Forum rules and no-advertising policy
As a participant on this forum, it is your responsibility to know and follow our rules. Please read this message in its entirety.
Board Rules
1. You’re responsible for what you say.
As outlined in Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, The Chronicle of the Horse and its affiliates, as well Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd., the developers of vBulletin, are not legally responsible for statements made in the forums.
This is a public forum viewed by a wide spectrum of people, so please be mindful of what you say and who might be reading it—details of personal disputes are likely better handled privately. While posters are legally responsible for their statements, the moderators may in their discretion remove or edit posts that violate these rules. Users have the ability to modify or delete their own messages after posting, but administrators generally will not delete posts, threads or accounts upon request.
Outright inflammatory, vulgar, harassing, malicious or otherwise inappropriate statements and criminal charges unsubstantiated by a reputable news source or legal documentation will not be tolerated and will be dealt with at the discretion of the moderators.
Credible threats of suicide will be reported to the police along with identifying user information at our disposal, in addition to referring the user to suicide helpline resources such as 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK.
2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.
The forums are a wonderful source of information and support for members of the horse community. While it’s understandably tempting to share information or search for input on other topics upon which members might have a similar level of knowledge, members must maintain the focus on horses.
3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.
4. No advertising in the discussion forums.
Posts in the discussion forums directly or indirectly advertising horses, jobs, items or services for sale or wanted will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Use of the private messaging feature or email addresses obtained through users’ profiles for unsolicited advertising is not permitted.
Company representatives may participate in discussions and answer questions about their products or services, or suggest their products on recent threads if they fulfill the criteria of a query. False "testimonials" provided by company affiliates posing as general consumers are not appropriate, and self-promotion of sales, ad campaigns, etc. through the discussion forums is not allowed.
Paid advertising is available on our classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.
Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:
Horses – Only general discussion about the buying, leasing, selling and pricing of horses is permitted. If the post contains, or links to, the type of specific information typically found in a sales or wanted ad, and it’s related to a horse for sale, regardless of who’s selling it, it doesn’t belong in the discussion forums.
Stallions – Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.
Services – Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.
Products – While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.
Event Announcements – Members may post one notification of an upcoming event that may be of interest to fellow members, if the original poster does not benefit financially from the event. Such threads may not be “bumped” excessively. Premium members may post their own notices in the Event Announcements forum.
Charities/Rescues – Announcements for charitable or fundraising events can only be made for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Special exceptions may be made, at the moderators’ discretion and direction, for board-related events or fundraising activities in extraordinary circumstances.
Occasional posts regarding horses available for adoption through IRS-registered horse rescue or placement programs are permitted in the appropriate forums, but these threads may be limited at the discretion of the moderators. Individuals may not advertise or make announcements for horses in need of rescue, placement or adoption unless the horse is available through a recognized rescue or placement agency or government-run entity or the thread fits the criteria for and is located in the Giveaways forum.
5. Do not post copyrighted photographs unless you have purchased that photo and have permission to do so.
6. Respect other members.
As members are often passionate about their beliefs and intentions can easily be misinterpreted in this type of environment, try to explore or resolve the inevitable disagreements that arise in the course of threads calmly and rationally.
If you see a post that you feel violates the rules of the board, please click the “alert” button (exclamation point inside of a triangle) in the bottom left corner of the post, which will alert ONLY the moderators to the post in question. They will then take whatever action, or no action, as deemed appropriate for the situation at their discretion. Do not air grievances regarding other posters or the moderators in the discussion forums.
Please be advised that adding another user to your “Ignore” list via your User Control Panel can be a useful tactic, which blocks posts and private messages by members whose commentary you’d rather avoid reading.
7. We have the right to reproduce statements made in the forums.
The Chronicle of the Horse may copy, quote, link to or otherwise reproduce posts, or portions of posts, in print or online for advertising or editorial purposes, if attributed to their original authors, and by posting in this forum, you hereby grant to The Chronicle of the Horse a perpetual, non-exclusive license under copyright and other rights, to do so.
8. We reserve the right to enforce and amend the rules.
The moderators may delete, edit, move or close any post or thread at any time, or refrain from doing any of the foregoing, in their discretion, and may suspend or revoke a user’s membership privileges at any time to maintain adherence to the rules and the general spirit of the forum. These rules may be amended at any time to address the current needs of the board.

In response to my previous question,
Tax breaks? Yeah, that 500 dollars my parents got back have really helped them out
broke the bank even.
As for improving highger education, you're definitely not in it now. My school is cutting classes, cutting tenured professors so I can be taught by grad students and adjuncts, and raising tuition AGAIN. May I remind that Bush also cut Pell Grants, before he put money back into them so he could look good of course.
As to the wars, I wouldn't call either one a success. Yes, many Iraqi's are happy to no longer have Saddam, but at the same time, they all want us to leave, and most don't give a damn about democracy. Again, I reiterate that I find it incredibly arrogant to assume that our way is the only way to do it and that they'll be happier eventually, when they realize we're only forcing on them whats best.
Privatizing social security? Bad idea.
And he has not helped the economy. Most of the jobs added have been laregly retail and sale, look at Ohio for the gaps with manufacturing, or talk to my mother about large tech companies outsourcing to India.
Kerry, as to why I like him.
I would much prefer him choosing Supreme COurt Justices. I think he is a reasonable, sound minded man willing to look at situations from many respects. As to the flip flop, i don't think he has much and besides even that, 'changing your mind is one of the best ways to know you still have one." The man does not ignore new pieces of intel, but rather tries to adjust his game plan based on the newest info.
he will be better on the environment bar none, and I dare anyone to argue with that. I am pro choice. The man has a lifelong record of public service for this country, and is not afraid to stand up for what he believes is right. You know, if you took this jello, put it in a mold and froze it, you could be like look....an emerald. Dude, I'd kick some guys ass he ever tried to give me a jello ring.

Well Blinky,
Number one: He THINKS. and his wife thinks too.
Number two: Knee Jerk is fine if you have a doctor tapping on your leg with a rubber mallet. It's not so hot when OTHER people's lives are on the line.
Number three: Gut reactions are fine - provided they are the result of years of thought and learning and experience percolating up through your awareness (see reason number one above)as opposed to I'm not sure quite what - celestial voices maybe?. No one, not even his friends has ever accused GW of being either a reader or a thinker.
Number four. I don't like liars. And if he's not lying, he's even more stupid than he appears.
Number five. Yes, I'm an American born and bred, and yes, this is for the most part a pretty good place to live (and I'll grant you it's a lot better than a lot of places) BUT.....it's not the only nice place on earth - it's not the only place with thoughtful, kind, thinking feeling people living in it, or the most beautiful scenery, or the most impressive monuments. It's not the be all and end all of life on earth, or even the 20/21stth century. Someone once told me, and it's true if you think about it - anytime someone disagrees with you, you have a 50 percent chance of being wrong - any math whizes out there want to calculate the percentage of the odds of our nation (government) being wrong in this one with how many disagreeing with us? At least to admit the possibility? f not in the deed, at least in the method/timing?
Number six. We do not exist in a vaccum - (remember 911?) We'd damn well better get along in the playground or first thing we know there'll either not be a playground at all, or someone (or a group of someones) is going to shove our face in the sand and sit on us until we agree to play nicely. I truly believe that Kerry has the grace, culture, background, personality and intellegence to speak as an equal with the rest of the world, and if not persuade them to our point of view, at least not to make enemys of them.
Number seven. A person is judged by the company he/she keeps and the counsel they take. I have vast admiration for Condie Rice and what she's accomplished, but I can't get over her stating that "Well, yes, I knew there was some discrepancies in the intellegence information before the war - but I' don't know what they were." This is SHOCKING! It was her job for God's sake. She's one of if not the top advisor to the president of the united states! Why didn't she know? Was it because GW would brook no argument and she wasn't going to 'rock the boat'? In my personal opinion, that says more about GW than it ever could about Condie. I still would like to know why Colin Powell has been relegated to a roving ambassador.
Number eight. I don't know if Kerry can actually do anything to improve/save the environment, but I'd be willing to bet he'll at least try, as opposed to willfully destroying it.
Number nine. I don't like incest - and the Bush family ties to the middle east, Cheney's ties to energy companies and the whole Haliburton mess just smack of, if not an incestuous relationship, certainly something that shouldn't be allowed in polite society.
Number ten. Grudges are all very well and good in private live (albiet a waste of time imo) they have zero place when it comes putting lives at risk on a wholesale manner.
I could go on, but that's enough for now."The way to gain a good reputation is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear" ~ Socrates

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Another liberal probably already beat me to this, but what the hey.
This liberal is willing to acknowlege that Hussein might have had them. Probably did, given that we sold them to him.
Nonetheless, he did not use them on us, so we had no justification for going in there, other than he was a bad man and the Bush family didn't like him overmuch.
Of course, we also have WMDs. So do several other countries. Are we going to invade ourself next?
Now ... will you acknowlege that the war was perhaps not as billed?Congratulate me! My CANTER cutie is an honor student at Goofball University!

Yes! but the catch is certifying them. You see idiot is relative to the intelligence curve. Maybe in Kentucky the average is so low there is no such thing as an idiot IQ. And insanity is another one of theose abstractions.
Insane is just someone who isn't the same as the run of society. If there are more off-track than those who are sensible the sensibles would be considered insane because there were less of them.
How about that New Jersey is going for Bush. This state hasn't been Republican since Dwight Eisenhower. You guys better get ready to eat crow or start packing.

Please show me where he said that?
I believe that according to the taped message, he said "our" security was in "our" hands. I don't recall him saying anything about us dying as a direct result of the election, although it is true that we all WILL die sometime.

Well he said that he would attack and it didn't matter who got elected unless we change our ways. I would assume we'd have to change our ways to agree with him and since we're not likely to do that he will come back with another attack no matter who get's elected.
Essentially that was the translation on CNN.

Snowbird I don't think that anyone disagrees that Osama Bin Laden is mad as a hatter. He is, however, a free madman and I blame Bush and Co for that, as they made the decision not to commit to going after him and instead to invade Iraq. A few months ago Bush said that he didn't care where Osama was and in fact "didn't think about him". That was clearly stupid.
At this point Bush has no credibility abroad or with much of the military and business communities at home. Even if the had the best plan ever for defending the country and fixing Iraq I doubt he'd be able to implement it. There is no reason that a new president can't continue to work with the best people currently involved in Iraq, but Bush as a symbol of incompetent empire building needs to go.

I have to admit Bin Laden scores a few points in his video. Bush could have cared less about the Kurds that Hussein gassed. The CIA left the Kurds dangling in the wind to die. Bin Laden correctly points out that this war was about oil and corporate profit, not civil rights. We Americans are perceived world wide as having the collective attention spans of hamsters, remember the Taliban? The fact is, the biggest menace in the middle east is Saudi Arabia with al of their madrassas spewing hatred...that's what spawned Bin Laden. The only ray of hope in the Middle East right now is that there is a small window of opportunity opening with the illness of Arafat. It might give both the Palestinians and the Israeli's to make some historic changes to diffuse the situation there that has been the core catalyst for terror. Sharon's carte blanche with this administration has caused more problems than Saddam ever did.
Bush needs to go.Snowflakes become an avalanche.

I haven't been in this discussion, and really have no plans to participate in it past this post (after all, I need to get to the polls).
It sounds an awful lot (not just on here) like there is some "Osama appeasing" going on. So BUSH is who he's mad at and voting for him is going to cause problems? The "states" (whichever definition he chooses) are in trouble if they support Bush? Let's all vote for Kerry because he'll definitely appease Osama and all of the radical Muslims and do whatever to make THEM happy? Then we'll all be safe?
Give me a break. Osama can shove his opinion up his ass, right along with his ballot for John Kerry. He lost any compassion I MIGHT have for their plight on 9/11.
JMHO.
