Dear God,
Thank you for giving me and all the other boarders the opportunity to work with horses. Thank you for allowing us time and money to be able to give to these massive animals with brains that we occasionally forget they have. And thank you for the amazing horses that are so kind. Thank you, even more so, for everyone elses’ horses ability to forgive their owner’s mistakes.
Please, please, help the intelligent Appy refrain from kicking his less than courageous owner as she tries to work him on from the ground, even if he thinks it's ridiculous. He has been great the past year or so, and please help him continue.
Please help the Clydesdale cross mare forever be patient and willing, and above all, loving, for her owner and their many sleigh rides and cart rides that happen during the appropriate times of the year.
Please help the high school girl find love in horses once more, and overcome her fear of riding anything faster than a walk once or twice a month on her two kind (one slightly grumpier) QHs.
Please help the old man across the aisle way live a long and healthy rest of his life, despite his weird head thing that might be something to do with his eyesight.
Please help the in-his-late-teens Quarter Horse gelding continue to be happy, because his owners do spend time with him and do like him.
Please help the red-dun mare next to the Old Man be patient and understanding with her tentative and new-to-owning-horses owner.
Please help the old foundation paint gelding sounding mare be healthy and happy, even if his kids aren’t capable of coming out everyday, and when they do, work him somewhat hard for such an old trooper.
Please help all the roping horses in the barn be healthy and happy, for they have wound up with owners that do care for them, but as all owners, they might make the occasional mistake.
Please help the ancient, been all over the county, 4H POA enjoy the rest of his life, because he is still going, maybe not as strong as he once was, but still going.
Please help the half Appy-half Thoroughbred gelding figure out what his owner is asking him to do, and vise versa.
Please help the little dun mare that I work with keep from losing her sanity as I attempt to find new and interesting things to do over this winter, and please help her understand that I don’t mean to be an idiot.
God, please help the boarding barn, and all it’s people, remain at peace and calm, and keep the horses and people happy as they live their lives.
Amen.
