Board Rules

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

4. No advertising in the discussion forums.classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.

Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:

Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.

Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.

While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.

  • Other than Facebook pages, where would you list a trailer for sale?

I have 2 fairly nice trailers I am trying to sell so that I can get my fancy LQ trailer (yay!!!). I've gotten a few bites off of FB but nothing concrete. Any suggestions on places to list?

I am casually looking...I search horsetrailerworld. It is mostly dealers there, but there are some privately owned listings. But FB is the first place I search.

I actually sold a nice 2017 3-horse on Craigslist just a couple of months ago.I had it listed on FB for a month with no hits then put it on Craigslist and it sold in a week. Go figure.

I was against listing it on Craigslist, it was Mr Squirrel's idea.

I sold my Brenderup on Craigslist a few years back. CL doesn’t have the best reputation and you may get some scammers, but I’ve had a lot of luck with it. I’ve found multiple nice apartments there over the years, sold saddles with no drama, and let’s not forget my “please tell me I don’t need a pony” pony!

Came here to suggest my old school option of CraigsList and see others have had good luck as well. I bought mine from CL.

Post them at the local TSC, feed stores and tack shop.

A friend just bought a trailer from Craigslist.

Yep, we had the same when we sold our trailer.

I sold one on horse trailer world in a few hours after getting nothing but tire kickers on fb (to be fair, the title was lost and the credit union that issued it no longer existed, so not the easiest sale... but still, I got more than my fair share of stupid people on that one).

The next trailer I sent to Hitch and Tow in Aiken to sell. It was a bit pricier and I figured it would be easier for her to attract clients that needed financing and I needed the space since I had the replacement trailer. I ended up getting what I wanted out of it give or take $200, which really was worth it not to deal with tire kickers.
Your crazy is showing. You might want to tuck that back in.
