  • Warner's tack trunks

Is there any way to change the name on them?

  • #2
Yes, any custom tack trunk maker can swap out the panels for new ones. Take your pick of companies...

Warners burned to the ground and through dint of loyal employees who made some sacrifiece re-emerged as PhoenixWest.

I don't know if they will have your records on file, but they will replace panels on their old trunks. And they're nice people, too.

      Here you go:

(I know it's a pain to get to a webpage that makes you "enter" to go to the actual homepage you want, But now that you know the story of the name, take a moment to appreciate the meaning of the graphic for them.)

I've had my Warners trunk for 20 years and replaced the panels about a year ago. It looks better than ever and it was so easy as I did it myself!

            Bandage Lids?

Does anyone know where to replace the vinyl panel on the Warners bandage lid trunks?

            • #7
You need to speak to a Phoenix West rep. They don't sell directly to customers and have them ask.

The medium Warner's trunks are different from the Phoenix West trunks and therefore the panels don't fit, so no recovering on those. I've had good luck with the large trunks and recovering from a Warner's to a Phoenix West.

Do keep in mind that if you are only doing a front panel and not the sides or top that the colors might be off a bit. They do fade etc and get dirty from barn everyday use. The new panels next to a 20 year old panel are different no matter what due to aging and use.

Also, some of the items are very difficult to repanel and require sending them into Phoenix West to be redone. If it is a big and heavy item, you are better off just ordering new...

The trunk lids are an example of this. The trim that runs around the lid comes in a flat sheet of metal which is then bent. They can't send that piece of metal through the mail so if you want to get new vinyl on your lid, it is more cost effective to just order a new lid once you factor in the shipping costs to Phoenix West, the labor to put in the new vinyl and then shipping back.
