Board Rules

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:

Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.

Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. • Reputable horse seller/buyer agents in MD VA PA area

Does anyone have recommendations for a horse seller agent and/or a horse buyer agent in the Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania area? Looking to sell my 8 y/o TB mare (jumper/eventer) and purchase new horse. Suggestions for agents that are honest, reliable, trustworthy, and have a successful track record would be much appreciated. Would be great to hear any negative experiences with agents (via DM--no need to disparage in public forum, unless you want). Thanks.

I bought my horse through Phyllis Dawson at Windchase in Purcellville, VA. She has a well-known consignment business, and I can't say enough good things. She was easy to work with, honest, and made the whole process go very smoothly!

I recommend Jess Fortin, who is also located in Purcellville, VA. She does hunter/jumper sales - but she also began her career in eventing, so she has contacts across several specialties. I have been nothing but impressed with her horse care, the management of each horse's program, and the caliber of horses she sells. She also has a great eye for talent and was just featured in the August 6-13 issue of the Chronicle for one of her finds, Amice Z, who just placed third in the $500,000 HITS Grand Prix with Charlie Jayne last weekend.

ETA: You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who works harder and pays closer attention than Jess. In my 26 years of riding H/J, I can say without a doubt that she works the hardest of anyone I've met in the industry.

I had GREAT experiences selling through both Lindsay Galloway (https://www.facebook.com/Almost-Famo...-292885714634/) and Kelsey Bernini (https://www.facebook.com/PembrokePointeStables/) both ladies were easy to deal with, got me my asking price, and kept my sales horses in great condition. They advertise a lot and have a lot of traffic. Highly recommend both!

Definitely more in line with hunter/jumpers, by Kristy Wilwerth with Picturesque Farms is great. I have (personally and through clients) bought several horses from her, and I have sold one through her as well.

Agree - she does a great job and seems to sell them quickly, lots never even make it to her website and Facebook page.

Another Kristi Wilwerth recommendation. Recently bought a horse from her. Very easy process, she was very upfront about everything and happy to answer all my questions. Never pushed an unsuitable horse and I ended up with a GREAT match. Sales, vetting and shipping was easily scheduled with her, she's very organized. Even my trainer commented on how easy she was to deal with, and what solid horses she represents.
