Board Rules

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

4. No advertising in the discussion forums.classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.

Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:

Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.

Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.

While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.

  • Back in the day when Millers was the go to catalog source, I ordered my first stable/show sheet. As soon as it came in I took it out to the barn to see how it'd look on my horse. Great fit perfectly.. then for some reason I decided then to adjust the surcingles. Hmm interesting one strap isn't long enough to fit around the barn corgi.

    • I've been disappointed with Schneider's for all the reasons everyone has mentioned. I used to love them, but just when you find a make and model of blanket that you like, they change it, or if you try on a friend's and then order one, it will be different.

Disappointed with Farnham masks and generally most fly masks for the same reason as Schneider's blankets. They keep changing them just enough that you end up with a pile of one's that don't fit quite right, so you have to buy more.

      • And, Irideon full seats. Wore holes through to the skin in 2 weeks.

        • Piper breeches. Just found a pair I bought last year in my closet. I gave them a shot and remembered why I stopped wearing them. They kept falling down my hips even with a belt done tight. So uncomfortable.

I have the Amigo Bravo with the disc closure. I dont hate it honestly. Id rather have the snap but the disc actually works totally fine. Easy to get on and off. I thought I was going to hate it but I dont mind it.

The Amigo Mio sheet is a waste of money. Complete trash. Waterproof for half a season. The Amigo Hero isn't much better. Horse has worn it three times and it has holes in it. Won't buy again.

Ice Horse Boots dont get the leg cold enough. Also the packs dont conform. I had better luck filling them with plain ice than using the packs.

The Mylar combination bit. The mouth piece was rusted and nasty after one season. I understand sweet iron, but this was ridiculous. I cleaned it after every ride but I felt bad putting it in my mares mouth.
I am on my phone 90% of the time. Please ignore typos, misplaced lower case letters, and the random word butchered by autocowreck.
